@El_FreedomFairy depends what you mean by saying 'moving', remember that if you are 'changing residency' the ATO considers on the date you leave your assets (bitcoin/shares) are considered sold and CGT due. After 7/2027 that's minimum 30% tax. Even if youdidnt actual sell still due!

I’m a 23 year old Aussie Bitcoiner. With the way Australia is going, I am hesitant to build my life here… I want to be able to buy a home, have a family, raise my kids without crazy gender politics, give back to my community, and be somewhere where people (at least to some extent) see the world similarly to me. If you were in my position, where would you consider moving?

@jake_pahor - they raise your access age to Super from 60 to 65yo. -they limit amounts that can be withdrawn. -change Super tax rules meaning locked in to those taxes until 60/65yo.

The Federal Budget just killed the 50% CGT discount for individual crypto investors. Nobody's talking about what they left untouched. $100K of BTC gains. Three completely different tax bills: → Held personally (new rules): $30,000 - $47,000 tax → Held in SMSF (accumulation phase): ~$10,000 tax → Held in SMSF (pension phase): $0 tax Same crypto. Same gain. Same person. Just held in three different tax wrappers. The 50% CGT discount didn't die. It just moved. If you've got serious crypto and you're not thinking about your tax wrapper, last Tuesday's budget just cost you five figures.
