@subnetradarcom i’m so confused. how is demand determined? and please don’t say positive net flow.

Bittensor is on runtime 440 and almost nobody has noticed what it does. The chain no longer pays subnets in proportion to demand. Every 360 blocks it sorts them, walks down until cumulative demand crosses 61%, and calls that point the bar. Every subnet's share is then multiplied by s³/(s³+bar³). Exactly half on the bar. Toward full above it. Toward nothing below it. The bar sits at 0.013642 right now. 17 of 129 subnets clear it. The effect is not gentle. The spread between the largest and smallest non-zero emission is now 217,232x. A plain proportional split would be a few thousand. What that means in practice: a subnet can be healthy, shipping, emission-enabled, and still collect essentially nothing. Not because the market rejected it, but because it sits under a threshold set by everyone else's demand. 59 subnets are at exact zero, switched off by root. 29 more are being gated down toward it. Those are different situations and they deserve different words. Nobody voted on any of it per subnet. It is automatic, and it recomputes every half hour. Bittensor's $TAO emissions just got an update: Under the new structure, the protocol first ranks subnets in order of emissions share under the current formula: EMA price * (1- miner burn %) It then sets a gate at 61% of the ranked values. Subnets below that gate have their emissions heavily throttled. Subnets above it get more. In short, higher emissions concentrations to the subnets whose tokens the market values most.

me too, you are not alone 😂 You’re a step ahead of me, I still havnt figured out what kind of laptop i need to buy, incase i require specific specs. If anyone could help me with this and reccommend the best suited for Bittensor mining with approx $3500 budget, i would appreciate it beyond belief.

anyone can mine anything now. point it at a subnet repo. it figures out the rest. all you need is a chatgpt or claude account and some compute. no ML engineering. works on @kaggle, @bittensor, @tigfoundation, @crunchDAO, your own local runs... you point it at a goal or a frontier and it works autonomously to break it. no ML background needed. you connect an llm (chatgpt, claude) and any compute (@lium_io, @chutes_ai, @runpod...). that's it. i'm not building this to farm $TAO. i'm building it to work on RSI. open source it? saas? genuinely asking.

These days i only get about 3 hours sleep, the rest of the night I am quite literally staring at subnet charts and studying wallets to find out how the staking system works and rotates and studying subnets. I knew nothing about crypto Until i bought Tao in January this year. I don’t own any other crypto, and never will. Tao is the only thing i’ll ever hold, and the only thing I want to hold. I’d love to see someone demonstrate the entire process from A to Z for a complete beginner: wallet, setup, LLM connection, compute, configuration, launch, and results. If a total novice can follow the tutorial and start contributing, then this could genuinely change who is able to mine on Bittensor
