If he stays busy it "looks" like hes making 27-30$ per hour, but he isnt. Most of his income is burning up in his cars fuel and lifespan.

You’re paying for somebody to: • Use their own car • Use their own gas • Put miles on their engine • Sit in traffic • Wait at the restaurant • Bring it directly to your door All because you didn’t feel like going to get it yourself. Delivery is a luxury. It’s convenience. It’s comfort. It’s somebody else handling the errand while you sit at home in pajamas. And before somebody says “that’s their job”….yes, and tips are how gig drivers actually make their money. The base pay on apps like DoorDash is not what you think it is. If you can drop $60 on dinner, you can drop $20 on the person bringing it to you. If $20 feels like too much, maybe pickup is the better option. Respect the hustle. Respect the gas. Respect the time.

Route takes 20-25 minutes and is 20 miles (10 each way). He makes 9$ for 20 miles. Thats 45c per mile. He *needs* 2 deliveries to even break even with that.

I feel like most people doing gig driving are not doing the math, or live in really dense areas with short driving distances. Current milage rates are 72.5c per mile. Id need to get that rate per mile + an hourly to even consider it using my own vehicle.

There is just too much quality stuff competing for my attention at a lower price point with less iffy management. Ill have another look in 2027 (if its still alive).

@KarmaticTV @digitalTodd @chronofloss Part 2) the really egregious part of these releases is that they release with a 40-80$ entry fee and then *still* pepper players with all the same F2P MTs and BPs. When time and money (and not choice) are players limiting factors how else do devs expect this stuff to go?!

@digitalTodd @chronofloss You guys are actually insufferable. Free isn't "bought". I'm totally with Dylan that the narrative around this game, 60-80k is still great and Marathon found it's place as the harder game. Not saying they'll be around for the long time or not, live service is like that.

With a risky 40$ entry fee I know tons of players who will say "ill look in 6-9 months and see if its still alive, then get it onsale". This is why F2P is the right way to enter the market with a game like this.
