@Ben_Dennis_ @__Conall She was raised evangelical Christian and then converted to Catholicism. In what way does that make her a Jew?

This is such a straw man. No one is claiming anyone is "beyond redemption." The question is whether it is wise to put your whole sordid past on display for millions of people to see. Lila is also a Papist who would deny Ashley is redeemed because she is not part of the RCC.
Lila Rose@LilaGraceRose

This is the power of the Gospel. Every one of us is a sinner in need of God’s grace. No past is beyond redemption, including a past life of promiscuity. To claim otherwise denies the heart of Christ. In Him, anyone can be made new.

@AmberLanph21831 @SenCortezMasto Wanting ICE to wear body cams, verify first whether a person is a citizen or not before putting them in a detention center, & requiring a judicial warrant before entering private property (like all other law officers are required to have) is “gutting homeland security”?

Speaker Johnson has a bill at his desk to fund TSA right now. Every single Senator, Republican and Democrat, agreed to pass it. But he's holding it up to play political games with a resolution he knows is dead on arrival in the Senate. It's just ridiculous, and Americans deserve better.

The long lines at airports now falls squarely on Speaker Johnson's shoulders. The Senate unanimously passed a bill to fund TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard. But Speaker Johnson is refusing to let the House vote on it. If you miss your flight, remember, this shutdown is on him.

@zombyboy @KenGardner11 Thank you for clarifying. Fortunately, in the wee hours of the morning, the Senate finally passed the DHS minus ICE funding bill and sent it to the House. Hopefully the House won't be idiots, but with Johnson in charge, who knows.

I hate to be that guy, but under what actual legal authority can Trump allocate money to the TSA that has not been specifically appropriated by Congress? Is it not the same problem as Biden's attempt to cancel student loans?

Owen hates scripture. Owen hates the God of the bible. "We don't need a God who says He's jealous over His children, or demands that we fear Him. We need Jesus to be our BFF teehee!" Disgusting and blasphemous. Repent, fool.
Owen Strachan@ostrachan

We don't need Reformed theology today that is cold-hearted, severe, legalistic, narrow, and fixated on a cold God who dislikes his people. We do need Reformed theology that is warm-hearted, joyfully holy, hopeful, humble, and fixated on a warm God who adores his people.

I knew a young man who had 2 women who were deeply interested in him—both church-goers and pretty; one was a virgin, the other a single mom. After much counsel and prayer, he married the single mom. He saw more godly character in her and too much vanity and pride in the other.

@cbiemiller @ZinaidaOfTarsus @Pastor_Gabe @SABERTOW Pride is one of the biggest issues in most marriages that struggle, whether it's on the part of both spouses or one. There's a reason it's at the beginning of most sin lists that God lays out in Scripture. It's the origin of our own sin - believing we know better than God. 2/2

@cbiemiller @ZinaidaOfTarsus @Pastor_Gabe @SABERTOW He's correcting the big over-reactions to the OG's hyperbole. I don't agree with the OG's statement. But he's not wrong that a Christian non-virgin can be more pure in heart than a Christian virgin. Lack of Fruit of the Spirit generally has more of an impact than sexual past.1/2

@Gov_Megatron @jay21547959 @WWUTTcom Spiritual maturity of the prospective spouse is more important. What Fruits of the Spirit do they exhibit? Do they have a teachable heart? This is true for both genders. Someone who is a virgin may be prideful. Someone not a virgin may be humble. Both have things to overcome.(2/2

@Gov_Megatron @jay21547959 @WWUTTcom I have no issues with someone wanting to marry a virgin. I also have no issues with someone choosing to marry a non-virgin. That decision is between them and God, in all situations. But saying that one or the other is invariably better is wrong.(1/2)

Lots of pretend “Christians” on X this week telling people who have had sex before marriage that they are less than. They’ll never be good enough. Never be pure enough. Weak and wounded sinner… Christ is a gracious Savior. Come to Jesus. He will cleanse and make you new.

Jesus didn't answer yes/no questions on the Pharisees' terms. You don't have to, either. Every time I'm mocked with some form of "You didn't answer [this person's] question!" I find it impossible to convince them I did.

@Starrtoon Got it. Thanks for clarifying. Is it possible for the non-virgin to be more pure in heart? And if so, does that still make the sexually pure virgin more desirable? In your opinion.

The whole “we’re losing the young men” argument is just the same old seeker-sensitive argument that is being repackaged. You don’t compromise the gospel because you fear it’ll turn people away. Just be faithful to Christ and preach his word.

@BShoutemnj @littleukrainian @HouseJudiciary @l_stemp Biden & Obama’s candidates had to follow the same process as Trumps. The difference is, they chose people that were professionally qualified/experienced. Trump’s criteria is - due the have a law degree and do they look good in front of a camera. Not the same things as experience.

Republicans want to change the law so AG Bondi can unilaterally appoint unqualified, sycophantic temporary U.S. Attorneys (recurrently and indefinitely!) to do Trump's lawless, political bidding—people like Alina Habba, who brought trumped-up charges against a Democratic congresswoman, or Lindsey Halligan, whose bogus case against Comey was thrown out after judges determined that her appointment was unlawful. RM @RepRaskin suggested they make their bad bill a little better: any temporary U.S. Attorney tapped by the AG must have some relevant professional experience and belong to the state bar. Even that modest standard was too much for Republicans to stomach as they seek to give Trump free rein to bring sham charges against anyone everywhere.

@jaysonyork @WordandWitness @dfziklag And I don’t even agree with much of Finney. But the inability for Calvinists to hold space that they (and Calvin) may not be 100% right is why there is a tendency for the display of pridefulness.

Unpopular Pastoral Opinion #22 Most American evangelicals are more influenced in theology and practice by Charles Finney or the Charismatic movement than they even know. And a simple study of church history would devastate so much of it.

@rickataylor814 @samstein You don’t understand that the Republicans refused to honor their responsibilities to pass a stand alone bill (9 of them) that would pay the TSA. I’m saying this as a conservative. The Repubs are no longer conservative, they are MAGA, which is tearing this trampling all over(1/2)
