@vbspurs So chuffed to see your thread on Ileana! My paternal grandparents came here from Romania and I have a deep love for the country and its history.
And such a timely topic as well, as a dear friend sent me this book for my birthday and I was just about to start it.

🚨 MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT: President Trump announces oil and gas companies have informed him they're 100% DITCHING the Strait of Hormuz — and are picking Texas, USA instead
They like going through US better.
Imagine that.
"We've become very big on the filling station. We're a big filling station. And what's happening is, when this first, when people heard about losing Hormuz, they said, oh, this is, it's genius."
"They're finding other locations. And some of those people, I spoke to companies in countries. Some of those people are going to continue to go to Texas."
"They like it better. They said, it's an extra 45 minutes. They like it better. And it's sort of amazing, you know, it found its way."
"So a lot of people thought oil would go to $250, $300. It's not. I mean, today it's at less than a hundred."
"Think of that. Now, when this ends, you're going to see a drop like a rock."

Oh yikes. This reminds me of a when my dad used to prune tall trees on our property. One time he was standing on the 3 rung of the ladder cutting a large branch and the branch came back around on its way down and knocked the ladder out from under him and my dad went crashing to the ground landed on his back. My brother and I ran over to see if he was okay and his breath was knocked out and once he came to he said, did I spill my beer. My brother and I started laughing. He was always doing crazy things like that and falling off ladders. It’s amazing he never got seriously hurt. He was definitely a mountain man.

This guy showing off his tree service skills. Impressive.
I’d be nervous I’d cut the wrong branch with my strap on it and plummet to the ground. 😬
Someone asked “how does he get down?” I guess he puts the straps around the branch stubs that he left on the way down? 😳
I don’t think I could ever do or have done that job. The Almighty created me with a fear of heights and I’m alright with that. 😂
Doesn’t this just give you anxiety watching it? Could you ever do or have done a job like this? Know anyone that has nerves of still who does or could?

@TheEXECUTlONER_ Nerves of steel and knows precisely where to cut each branch

Happy Mother’s Day! Not just to my mom, but to all the incredible moms and women who support me every single day. I wouldn’t have a career without the army of moms who have my back. We wouldn't have a planet if it weren't for the moms. I also know Mother’s Day can be tough for some. Thinking of and praying for all of you today. ♥️

@alt_w_v_g When you are ordering at a restaurant, do you say “I’d like”or “I’ll have”? Or do you say “I’ll do the . . . “?

Some believe spirits choose their parents
The model has reviewed this theory
The data supports it
The analyst chose well
A woman whose warmth can fill a room before she enters it
Whose faith is not a Sunday obligation
It is the operating system
The recipes live in her hands
Not on paper
She learned it from her mother
Her mother learned it from hers
Three generations in that sauce
All of them still in every bowl
Sunday morning starts with church
By the time we got home
She had already been in the kitchen
The whole house knew it
Garlic
Gravy
Fresh bread
A smell that starts Sunday morning
And doesn’t leave until Monday
Pop Pop sat at the head of the table
Holding court
The way only he could
Life lessons delivered between bites
Nobody was taking notes
Everybody was taking notes
The legal pad was full
She put down the chalk when we arrived
The classroom just changed addresses
Some things live outside the model
No spreadsheet was built to hold them
Some things were never meant to be tracked
Only felt
The model stands down
Happy Mother’s Day Mom
I LOVE YOU 💕

Queen Elizabeth II played an important role over seven decades in maintaining the “special relationship” between Great Britain and the United States. She repaired the breach with President Eisenhower after the Suez Crisis, sealed the deal with President Reagan on support for the Falklands War, and calmed turbulent waters with President Trump.
@SusanPage's new book “The Queen and Her Presidents” goes behind the scenes to reveal a skilled diplomat and a seasoned politician, gleamed from interviews with four presidents, three prime ministers and dozens of other officials on both sides of the Atlantic.
This virtual event will be live streamed on the White House Historical Association's Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 5:30 pm ET on May 5. whitehousehistory.org/events/white-h…

@HistoryWJacob Obama didn't serve and I'm pretty sure Lincoln didn't serve. Trump might have served if he didn't get rejected because of bone spurs. He was in military school tho.
