@untypicalboro almost certainly Ayling has made an accusation of racist or homophobic abuse. If the ref doesn't hear it then he needs to alert both managers and then the FA investigate afterwards.

@refsupportuk United fans crying about consistency is laughable considering the “unconscious bias” they benefited from during SAF reign. Now the officials are better, fitter and the laws are more defined, they have to play on the same level playing field, they’re just babies. Just big babies.

@Real1_balogun This being overly familiar with players and staff is why they ref players differently, even obvious decisions get overlooked because "oh it's ...." He'd never do that on purpose, it's okay to humanise the officials but they are officials for a reason, zero consistency.

When I watch Refcam, I respect referees more. The instantaneous nature of those decisions can be pressuring. They must be smart people too. The good ones. In this Refcam I’m watching, Sam Barrott who officiated the Spurs vs Aston Villa game has called Richarlison ‘Richy’, Rogers ‘Morgan’ and Gallagher ’Conor’. That shows that he’s warmed up to them. He told De Zerbi “good to see you” probably because he’s been away from the league. He told Leon Bailey the same because he’s not been around too. He was recalled from Roma in January. Chris Kavanagh in Everton vs Liverpool. He calls a foul and Tarkowski keeps nagging. He asked him “are you going to take the whistle when you retire or what?”😂😂😂 He told Salah, “Pleasure Mo” and Salah responds, “if I don’t see you again, it’s a pleasure”. Paul Tierney — Arsenal vs Bournemouth. When he called the penalty, he told the Bournemouth player, “I know it’s a short distance but your hand and arm are really high”. James Hill had his foot on the 18-box before Gyokeres’, he shouted “stay out ‘Hilly’, Hilly stay out”. Take note of ‘Hilly’. It’s friendly and almost interpersonal. Those clips give a different feel of what it is to be in their position.

So, baseball and softball have received c£1.5m over 15 years from @Sport_England with tens of thousands of players whereas futsal, with hundreds of thousands of players, has received zero from both the @FA and @Sport_England although Sport England will also admit that @FA have never asked for any funding for futsal. More unacceptable suppression from The FA and more unacceptable tolerance from Sport England. @BBCSport @TeleFootball @UEFAFutsal @Futsal_Focus

@HACKETTREF So if a player miss kicks the ball in the penalty area and it’s going into the goal but it hits a teammate on the line ,where does that stand ?

@AVFCChattin @refsupportuk What’s worse is that if I remember the referee didn’t even give a foul. Not the greatest performance from the referee, allowed far too much WWE but we’ve all had poor games. Just because he’s got UEFA on his shirt doesn’t mean he’s exempt from them.

@refsupportuk I’m sorry mate, I’m here to defend refs on the whole but I’m genuinely not sure how that isn’t looked at last night, it is so obvious I have sympathy for refs who can miss things in the speed of the game but someone in VAR, to wave that on, is horrendous

Every country thinks they should use “Foreign Refs” In European games, they still are not happy. The problem is that clubs and fans around the world are never happy unless every decision goes their way. It’s embarrassing to see and they never read the room. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

"WHAT IS VAR?! It was a huge mistake...Ollie Watkins was close to breaking his ankle" 😡 Aston Villa boss Unai Emery was incensed, believing Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson should have been sent off for a challenge on Watkins.

Ben White clearly made an innocent mistake when walking across the Atletico Madrid crest. He's not showing a lack of respect. He’s caught up in the emotion of the occasion. Simeone father and especially son were unimpressed… #AFC 1/2

@Refsplaining A letter written by biased fans doesn’t make things “factual”. Until fans remove emotions and then look at decisions in isolation, the nonsensical bleating, moaning and whining will never stop.

There have been five refereeing errors in Everton matches according to the PL’s independent panel, which comprises four ex-players and one ref. Everton benefited from four, against Wolves (a), Villa (a), Arsenal (a) and Chelsea (h) 1/2

We have wrote an open letter to @FA_PGMOL regarding the current state of officiating in the Premier League. A copy of this letter has also been supplied to Angus Kinnear for his meeting with PGMOL.

@refsupportuk Coach told me that his players were allowed to wear earrings if they taped it up (player was unable to remove the earrings), how he’s done the Referee course and knows the rules. I told him he’d know what I was cautioning him for as this was clear dissent 😀

@FabrizioRomano @BeanymanSports Was he saying the same after one of his players got away with a deliberate headbutt last week? Didn’t think so, although this could be seen as having “everything going his way” like he’s asked.

@VonBarronshire @refsupportuk Dear fans Please remember referees don’t create the laws, IFAB do, and remember fans only want to cry about a decision when it benefits them and often cry about a decision without any knowledge of the laws of the game.

@refsupportuk Dear refs, please remember that you create the laws and most of them don't apply commonsense, because you have never played the game and want an instruction manual on how to make decisions, rather than using your own brains.

@refsupportuk You're the embarrassing one with your blind defence of incompetent officials. Explain to me why you can be confident that there's no corruption when there's been cases in every other major league. The truth is you can't. You, the PGMOL and idiots like Dermot Gallagher sum you up.

@refsupportuk The arrogance of the media and people like yourself that won't countenance corrupt officials in the English game despite occurrences in every other major European league is truly outstanding.

@mark_robinson_ This confirms to me that the incompetence level of officiating in what’s supposed to be the best league in the world is horrific, how do you have video evidence and still get decisions wrong ? I’d hate for some of these clowns to be on jury duty

It was surprising how the referee could see these two incidents so differently, but he gets one look so you cut him some slack & VAR was brought in to correct his mistakes But for them to look at it multiple times & still make the same mistake is utterly baffling #MUFC #ManUtd

@SkySportsNews I tend to understand where Dermot is coming from but he’s got this one wrong. It’s a clear push, and it’s reckless taking into consideration the speed the players were travelling and the goalkeepers position which is clear to the attacker. It’s an easy caution

@RefsJourney “I watch the offsides every game”, that said. - I’m on my own, they have 4 officials and VAR at the highest level and they still manage to make mistakes. - I’m human. - I’d rather give a bad offside than a bad goal.
