INCREDIBLE quote from the 1976 movie The Network

Just guessing, but if I were to predict the direction of the progressive movement in the next 5-10 years I think the gender bending and sexuality centering will end. They’ll still have the odd mention of pride, but it’s going to be more of an after thought. The movement is clearly becoming more and more Islamic. They’re going to be doubling down on the racial hatred of white people and of their hatred of the west, but the race stuff will be more subtle. The US did this, instead of the white cishet-patriarchy but it means the same. Less rainbow-black communism, more red green alliance.

Explaining to the toddler being eaten alive that ackshually it’s not a pitbull, it’s a staffordshire terrier (commonly called a pitbull) Everyone knows what is meant by “pitbull,” we don’t need to play these semantic games

i wish they made cute underwear for guys the way they do for girls

The source of the data center water psychosis is @_KarenHao, whose book Empire of AI was a NYT best seller but overestimated water use by 100,000% (lol). The response was just “oopsies” and all the incorrect books were kept in circulation 🤷🏻♂️

@PoliticSuave Blowback is a bitch. And I witnessed 9/11.

Not enough attention being paid to the fact that a 19-year-old died in ICE custody in Florida last week. miaminewtimes.com/news/body-cam-…

Barack Obama was fond of invoking an abstract unity that was rhetorically elegant but fundamentally hollow. Mamdani is doing something quite different: engaging people through the prism of their own traditions in a moral language universalist in its implications. Link below ↓

The artwork is a depiction of a historical event that involved the massacre of Aboriginal children that occurred in the colonization of Australia. As described in 'Massacres to Mining: the Colonization of Aboriginal Australia' by Janine Roberts, an Aboriginal person recounts how her mother would sit and cry and tell the story of how Aboriginal children were murdered during the colonization years: "They buried our babies in the ground with only their heads above the ground. All in a row they were. Then they had tests to see who could kick the babies' head off the furthest. One man clubbed a baby's head off from horseback."

there is no systemic racism against black americans in nyc — in fact the system seems to favor them. there’s just no path for white people to live in the city longer term but wealth. so most avoid the place completely, and the few who stick around are rich.
