Do you think Paula Vennells and others should go to prison for their part in the post office scandal
Yes or No? #PostOfficeScandal

English

@Anniesomeone1 @JANUSZCZAK How does this work? You don’t avoid uk tax by investing through an offshore trust.
English

@TheMaineWonk WW1 US contribution was peripheral and not decisive.
English

@carla_denyer @PatrioticMills Yes, it’s plainly ridiculous that anyone now to be subject to 40% inheritance tax on their global assets should consider changing their tax jurisdiction to one where they won’t be.
English

*they don’t actually represent most millionaires, most of whom support fairer taxes: patrioticmillionaires.uk/latest-news/pm… @PatrioticMills
English

Surprise surprise, that ‘research’ about millionaires leaving the UK because of tax changes was absolute junk! Time for @RachelReevesMP to stop listening to the anti-tax 'millionaire community'* and start taxing wealth fairly?

@David_warren198 @BobBobs64 @richardpbacon You tend not to have extreme temperatures, floods, droughts, or storms in greenhouses. You also often have shading.
English

So why do we use green houses to encourage growth of plants? Plus sunlight is a very important aspect. Certain plants cannot grow without it. Which makes plans to dim the sun absolutely insane, especially when we’re becoming reliant on bloody solar panels for energy. The whole thing is an absolute mindfuck.
English

@David_warren198 @BobBobs64 @richardpbacon Plants don’t grow well in storms, floods, droughts and high temperatures.
English

@BobBobs64 @richardpbacon Ok but tell me how CO2 is damaging the planet, considering plants thrive I a high CO2 environment. The whole thing is a crooked scam, to keep making the poor even poorer.
English

@deivinfodase @PolymarketIntel You have to factor in the cost of the damage/loss of life the drone would otherwise cause.
English

@PolymarketIntel $1 million missile spent on a $500 drone, they just dont know how to fire the cannon?
English

@BBCSteveR ‘Good morning Mr President, how many Ukrainian children have you killed this morning?’
English

@RugbyInsideLine @LewisLudlow94 It is daft to pick just the starting 15. Pick the
23 match day squad.
English

🦁 Gloucester captain and England international Lewis Ludlow, @LewisLudlow94, has given us his Lions starting XV.
How do you think that side would front up against Australia?

English

@PeterStefanovi2 And Canada, of which the King is head of state. Trump insults the King by threatening Canada
English

MPs and peers oppose Donald Trump address to parliament during UK visit
Concerns raised address would be inappropriate because of president’s comments about UK, Nato and Ukraine

@AMAZlNGNATURE You’re being a human; emotional, irrational, empathetic. That’s a human.
English

@SkyNews So previously female officers were expected to strip search biological men?
English

Trans women in British Transport Police custody will now be strip searched by male officers - not female - following Wednesday's Supreme Court ruling.

@schneiderhome One alternative is to tax capital gains and dividends like other income. Look at VAT. Just increase tax rates.
English

@schneiderhome It isn’t impossible. See the report of the wealth tax commission; listen to the IFS; listen to Dan Neidle. Talk to those countries that have tried and scrapped wealth taxes. They are not a panacea.
English

@leeharris Starmer just made a bunch of laws that white people get a harsher sentence than others. People still in jail for mean tweets and the thought Police knocking on doors at 2am to enforce the laws about mean tweets. Starmer is nowhere near sorting this mess out. Time will tell.
English

@riversorare @SamBail72872077 Much easier just to tax capital gains and dividends as income.
English

@SamBail72872077 But its a half arsed wealth tax full of loopholes and based upon an arbitrary date. Would be better to have a modest annual wealth tax.
English

It's 50 years tomorrow since Denis Healey's 1975 budget. Taking a step back from the brink, as the UK faced economic meltdown, he raised the basic rate of income tax. No chancellor has done so since. Perhaps it's time for Rachel Reeves to do so again.

@Dougie20057878 @jonsopel It’s China that has the cards. The USA has no other sources for the goods it gets from China. China has other markets. And now it is putting a block on exporting rare earths to the USA.
English

Because you’re not a businessman you have no idea how business deals are done
Trump has brought most of the world to the negotiating table and he will get the deals he wants - he doesn’t want a trade war - he showed them what a trade war would look like - now he’s winning
He’s taking China down a piece at a time
But then I guess reporters shouldn’t comment on what they don’t understand - they should just report
And people with no knowledge of business shouldn’t go into politics
English

In other words a capitulation to the Chinese.
So much for them having no cards to play.
The chaos around this just mounts
