When (1) number of children in temporary housing is spiralling, (2) more low income households are being outbid from normal houses by wealthier renters, and (3) rent takes up to half (if lucky) of wages, that response is ignorant.
Housing is PART of the cost of living crisis.

So appalling, I’ve seen first-hand how homelessness affects families. I’ve seen how a lack of housing, both council and private, has affected working households.

@PushTheSutton And that’s mostly been phased out, a lot of places where we aren’t standing full slates are where there’s work that continues needing to be done to get people into the party and willing to standing! One of successes past few years have been winding down indie and green deals!

At the time that rise enabled more people than ever before to go to uni, some level of contribution is fine, and why no one now is talking seriously about abolishing

Terrifying prospect. Entirely the fault of the current city leadership.
It might be difficult to do anything good, progressive and growth-enabling in the next four years unless that green vote comes through, but I think the other likely winners have no interest in governing.

@Demetriiuz @jordanbhx @TelGolden Weird deflection, we have plenty of evidence of Greens blocking Green infrastructure, tuition fee freezes was not something realistic in 2010 and we was wrong to have let people be bounced into backing the NUS pledge on them, backing green infrastructure is easily doable tho!

@SamF_H They’ll certainly make some gains in all of these (though I’d assume in east Surrey that’ll be rather muted) , definitely hard to see where there’s the numbers for them to be in coalition on Suffolk, or remotely close to controlling Southwark or Lambeth

@WobblyWebley @llwtydeer Crucially GPEW don’t believe in building a large volume of housing, their target is only on affordable housing and that’s not even new constructions, they are obsessed with bring “vacant” houses back into use as affordable units… which is very costly for councils

Plus a cap could be above what is current. Or it could cap rises to like 3-5%.

Arguably the most interesting finding here. If the Lib Dem’s go into May with the Greens eating at their progressive flank it could well limit their gains in eg the new East and West Surrey councils, Sussex and other south east districts
