Maybe like 30 years ago. Not any more, not from what I've seen. This specific grift doesn't work because the vast majority of western women who would stay in hostels or travel alone in the first place have been subconsciously conditioned to see white guys as vaguely 'privileged' or 'oppressors,' so this particular thing doesn't really compute for them. East & South Asian culture are optimized for academic & professional success but far less so for social success & having fun. This is a big reason why SF is such a joyless place to live in despite its wealth & status as the world's tech mecca. Very rarely do social interactions/parties/trips with Asians erupt into unbridled bacchanalia where shit goes down (when do you ever hear "Asians," "Hot girls," "Cocaine," "Orgies," in the same sentence?). No, they're tame, controlled, predictable, just an Americanized version of a Tsinghua University "party." Apply this to a city-wide level. Imagine if Austin or Miami were 35% Asian. They would be radically different from what they are now. They would lose their core identity, the unique variables that make them what they are. In such a scenario, the cities would become dystopian soulless landscapes. Attractive women would flee. Single straight men looking to have fun with baddies would look elsewhere. Now let's apply this to immigration. I genuinely think a major reason why so many White American men are opposed to immigration is not because they hate non-Whites. Instead, it's because post-2010 immigration has been disproportionately unmarried men from Asia who do not provide economic or social utility to White American men. On one hand they compete with them for jobs & raise prices, and since they're not unmarried women, they do not add sexual value either. My point in all of this not a moral nor normative one. It's simply that one cannot separate demographics from cultural & social trends and life experiences at large.
