@nypost Newsom could suspend gas tax and the two carbon taxes and reduce the pump price by $1/gallon at any time. He could waive the special blend rules and reduce another $0.50/gallon, at any time. Keep that in mind while you’re struggling to fill your tank so you can live your life.

@nettermike @SenBrianJones Putting CARB in a lead role for energy and transportation, with a sole focus on air quality was the original sin. Much of what CARB does now along those lines would be better handled by the California Energy Commission which has a better focus on system costs.
Since toxic air pollution has been greatly reduced in California, CARB switched to trying to reduce carbon dioxide which is plant 🌱 food. As a result, Californians are paying an extra $2/gallon for gasoline ⛽️ with no impact on rising levels of CO₂ in the global atmosphere. In fact, over 31 years, the Conference of Parties has failed to put a dent in rising levels of CO₂ in the global atmosphere. CARB should forget carbon dioxide and focus on reducing toxic air pollution caused by wildfire smoke with a sense of urgency around wildfire prevention.
