@Delta told by gate agent to go to help center with my issue. Luckily no lines at the help center. Unfortunately no staff either.

For the record, since people are so concerned 😉. I have “travel” scrubs- I wear them to the hospital, then immediately change into hospital scrubs. Then, hospital scrubs are turned in and travel scrubs are worn home. No patient care scrubs leave the hospital 😊

On a regular basis I meet people who were offered the chance to prevent colon cancer and put it off until they get colon cancer. The current age to start screening is age 45. Please don’t put it off until you meet me in the OR. #coloncancer #colorectalsurgery

@UBSurgery One way to get that coast to coast road trip in is by matching to a California fellowship. I got my second one in when I moved back to NY.

What are the odds that every flight I’ve been been scheduled for @WestJet is cancelled for mechanical issues.

After 34 years of service at ECMC (and 42 years of practicing in Buffalo), Dr. William Flynn is hanging up the trauma and ICU pager. We're grateful he will still be performing elective surgeries while having more time for family and golf. Thank you & congratulations, Dr. Flynn!

sometimes i feel bad for complaining about residency salary but i'm literally a doctor taking home 1839 per paycheck, working 120-140 hours and in $280,000 of debt from 8 years of school

@BrianTengMD @jasonryanmd Wow!! I don't think I have actually seen this before 😮. I guess it brings about a hypertonic environment that draws the fluid out, making the prolapse easier to reduce.

Carotid sinus massage to break a tachycardia is the closest thing to magic we get to do in cardiology. The idea that you can rub on someone’s neck and cure their heart problem is surreal. What are some other quick cures in other specialities that are like this?

@mdbtvh There are times when I don’t have a solution for the patient’s issues. Honesty with the patient is best. It is ok to also say this is something I need help with and/or need to look up.

@fuqekgs Medicine has a lot sharp turns. One second someone is dying and the next second you put on a smile to tell someone good news. Sometimes it seems the training has to be dehumanizing to allow us to do this but really we’re just bottling things up.

Dear @elonmusk, I wanted you to be aware of the racket that goes on in medicine. To sum it up, here is a case example. When I fix a distal radius bone fracture - 45 minutes to 1 hr of highly skilled intricate work: 1. Doctor makes 750. 2. Hardware I put in costs 3000 plus roughly 10 screws, each costing 100 bucks 3. The destributor of that hardware makes half on that hardware cost. 4. The manufacturer makes the other half 5. The hospital/ambulatory surgical center makes 6-7x what I make. I took majority of the risk. I went to school for 14 years, after high school. Global period is 90 days during which, I make no money taking care of this patient. I make no money waking up at night answering patient questions of varying significance, mostly, ones that have already been answered. Tell me what dumbass will go into medicine now? @DutchRojas
