🚨 IN COURT ⚠️ Dog killer Megan Mitchell, 28, from Camblesforth, Selby YO8 - failed to have her lifetime ban overturned. York magistrates imposed the ban on Mitchell in May 2025 after hearing how her German Shepherd, Loki (pictured), was found in a crate in such a poor condition that he died as an RSPCA inspector rushed him to a vet. The bottom of the crate was covered in faeces and there was no bedding. A vet later said that Loki was dehydrated and emaciated, must have been deprived of sufficient food for weeks, if not longer, and must have displayed extreme signs of illness for some time. Mitchell appealed against the ban on the grounds it was "disproportionate to her offence" and applied to all animals. But Judge Stephen Ashurst, sitting with two magistrates, rejected her appeal. “We have in mind the future welfare of animals,” he said.
