Wannabe alpha male Zia Yusef is so relentlessly aggressive towards Tories it turns my stomach. I will never vote for Reform. I could never vote for a party that harbours such emotionally stunted bullies who spend all day hissing venom on Twitter. The only way to put Reform out of business is to vote Conservative.

A mortal blow to the Tories as a serious national party is coming. Nothing less than those traitors deserve. Bookmark this tweet.

Serica Energy says an estimated five trillion cubic feet of gas lies under the seabed west of Shetland, where there is already infrastructure for piping it back to the mainland. Serica’s CEO said: “It’s equivalent to supplying every household in the UK for five years. And yet, some people continue to say that the amount of gas we can produce in the UK is not significant.” The claim will pile fresh pressure on Ed Miliband to allow drilling in the North Sea. #CostOfNetZero

Bad place for @reformparty_uk spin doctors to end up, lying about @Conservatives @Katie_Lam_MP to distract from: 📉 Reform support drifting down ↘️ 📈 @KemiBadenoch ratings ⬆️, net approval rate higher than any other leader, & preferred v Starmer & Farage in head-to-head polls
Katie Lam@Katie_Lam_MP

@CharlieSimpsonA Thanks for correcting. I'm not going anywhere. Kemi is doing a fantastic job. I'm more convinced than ever that the solutions to the country's problems are Conservative solutions, and the Conservative Party will implement them.

🚨 If Reform can’t run Worcestershire… how can they run Britain? Nigel Farage now says Reform “regret” taking control of Worcestershire County Council. No one forced them to stand. They campaigned on cutting waste and reducing taxes. Instead residents got one of the biggest council tax rises in the country – nearly 9%. So what happened? ⸻ Let’s remember the facts. Under the previous Conservative administration Worcestershire delivered around £60m of savings in two years while continuing to invest in services. Reform promised they could do better. Instead we’ve seen: • Internal division • Rushed decision making • A Deputy Leader resigning publicly citing lack of action • And now Nigel Farage saying they wish they hadn’t taken control ⸻ Farage has even described Worcestershire as a “basket case”. Let’s be clear. Worcestershire is not a basket case. It’s a county of hardworking residents, businesses and communities who deserve serious leadership — not excuses from politicians who suddenly realise governing is harder than shouting slogans. ⸻ Here’s another inconvenient truth. The current leader of the council was a Conservative councillor until March 2025 before switching parties shortly before the election. So when Reform claim they inherited a mess… they are effectively blaming themselves. ⸻ Running a council is not the same as running a protest movement. It involves difficult decisions about: • social care • children’s services • infrastructure • long-term finances Serious politicians deal with those challenges. Populists complain when reality arrives. ⸻ Nigel Farage has spent years criticising governments from the sidelines. But the moment Reform has to actually run something — even one county council — the story changes from: “We’ll fix it.” to “We wish we hadn’t bothered.” ⸻ So here’s the question voters should ask. If Reform cannot run one county council without breaking their promises… why should anyone trust them to run the country? ⸻ Cllr Adam Kent Leader of the Conservative Opposition Worcestershire County Council

@michaelkeegan14 @blagden_david In 2010, the UK had a budget deficit of 9%, after Gordon Brown's disaterous premiership. That was obviously unsustainable. Difficult decisions had to be made.

@blagden_david You are being wise after the event. The context was different in 2010. Some good progress was made between 2010 and 2024 but not enough in hindsight. And much more needs to be done now. Welfare spending is rising faster than defence spending...that's the real scandal today.

Don't blame Britain's armed forces for our current international humiliation. We could have easily pre-positioned forces to defend our interests in Cyprus and Bahrain given that the writing has been on the wall for months that Iran's intransigence could result in US and Israeli military action.   We have left our allies bewildered and angry, our citizens and interests unprotected, and our international reputation in tatters because Keir Starmer, our "national embarrassment " did not want to send any "signals" to his Parliamentary left-wing and sections of his voter base that Britain might support US or Israeli action.    Cowering behind legal opinion and lacking any shred of leadership when we needed some political backbone, we have the most invertebrate government conceivable. Don't blame our proud and capable military who share our embarrassment, blame the shameful and useless Labour government which, nominally, governs our country.

Yesterday some in the Labour Party were saying I should have supported Keir Starmer. These two headlines show exactly why I didn’t. Starmer’s inaction is making Britain look weak and angering our closest allies. Even worse, it seems he’s doing it because of his party’s interest, not the national interest. As I told Labour MPs yesterday, we are in this war whether they like it or not. We should be taking the necessary steps to stop further attacks on British bases and service personnel. Defensive action is simply not enough.

Newspaper front pages often define premierships, or moments in premierships. Think of Thatcher and "Gotcha", capturing the decisiveness of the Iron Lady in the Falklands War Or think of "Crisis, what crisis", which neatly summed up Callaghan's nonchalance in the face of economic meltdown Well if there is a front page to define Starmer, let it be this one. At a moment of international crisis, with British interests, British lives and British allies in grave peril, he dithered and delayed, petrified by his own shadow, and weeping into the pages of whatever UN charter Lord Hermer has used to convince him that he should choose flight over fight A moment of national humiliation
