1/3 Look blog.yugabyte.com/using-postgres… “Bacon Numbers” is a set-piece assignment for CS students. Solutions are usually sought in an “if-then-else” language. Amazingly, a correct pure SQL solution fits in a single tweet. See 2/3. But it fails to finish on real data 🙁 3/3 fixes this.

@USPSHelp I just got this SMS from (672) 654-7408. This number, the wording “reply with a Y, then exit the text message and open it again to activate the link, or copy the link into your Safari browser and open it”, and the URL all look suspect. Is this a phishing attempt?

@Zoom: Using MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1. Just upgraded to Zoom.us.app Version 5.17.11. How do I create an ICS file to attach to emails etc? (I used to do it easily. The feature seems now to have vanished.)

@UPS_News, I got an email “Your UPS package was delivered.” The photo was so out of focus that it could be any package in any building. There was no package for me in my building. I tried to file a claim but got “your claim cannot be submitted at this time... [UPS:E022]” What???

@Photoshop 2/2 I get no error message but it takes me back to the same “Sign in required” screen. I tried resetting my password but I get the same behavior. I have a note of my licence key. But I don’t reach a screen where I can enter it.

@Photoshop 1/2 I installed Photoshop Elements on my MacBook (Intel chip) in Jan-2020. Have used it ever since without problems. I just retired that MacBook and got a MacBook Pro M3 (Silicon chip). I cloned it from my old MacBook. Now Photoshop wants me to sign in with my Adobe ID

@phsalvisberg 1/2 Thanks—especially from Herr Professor Pink Datenbank! Don’t know about the book, though. My special gift (no false modesty needed here) was to communicate, to a wider audience, what my close colleagues had patiently taught me face-to-face in my office.
