It takes women almost 15 years longer than men to progress to full professorships at top UK universities on average, according to a new study.

Controversial opinion: a lot of men are unfit for influential careers including (perhaps especially) in politics since their primary instinct is to support the “Bro Code” by voting with the (usually male) leader of their political party instead of supporting their conscience and this is why we rarely see people crossing the floor and publicly disagreeing with their party and when we do it’s usually women.
(PS: Patriarchy ensures many women are also soaked in these “Bro Code” norms meaning they also do the bidding of the patriarchal leader.)
(PPS: This might also help explain why the vast majority of Teal independents are women.)
(PPPS: We’ve explained before how men tend to see themselves as men first and humans second while women tend to see themselves as human first and women second, which also helps explain why many men tend to support other men rather than their conscience when making decisions on important issues.)
(PPPPS: All women - and many men - have seen how many men will “band together” to defend one or more other men, such as during a debate on sexist jokes or rape culture; hence we’ve seen this “Bro Code” propensity for ourselves many times so don’t fucking tell us it doesn’t exist.)
(PPPPPS: This “Bro Code” propensity is why it’s so incredibly fucking important to dismantle men’s entrenched systems of power and misogynist control which include the relentless demeaning and objectification of women via gross, woman-hating radio shows: unless we do dismantle that sexism and hate such men will continue to harm women’s prospects and will continue to exert most planetary control so the huge humanitarian issues we all face won’t be solved and may, in fact, continue to get worse.)
(PPPPPPS: No men were harmed during the writing of this tweet but a shitload of them will claim they were.)

Wow, @nature has retracted the 2020 Poore et al. cancer microbiome paper that we showed (journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb…) was deeply flawed. The retraction date is tomorrow so I can't yet read the official notice, but I'll update when I can @RetractionWatch @ProfBootyPhD

@newscientist The subtitle would have been a better title for this article by Alice Klein. "Genetic studies suggest postmenopausal women are so crucial to the survival of grandchildren that we evolved genes to keep their brains healthy"

@adambspencer It is sickening. I have never forgotten that on 12 February 1993 in Merseyside, two 10-year-old boys, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, abducted, tortured, and murdered a two-year-old boy, James Bulger.

@autismcrisis Time to rethink the MIA hypothesis...for me the key sentence here is "Timing of offspring exposure does not alter the association between exposure and NDD risk in children, which places doubt on the proposed mechanism of risk transmission triggered in pregnancy"
