In her keynote address at the 10th PhD Symposium, Prof. @PbyakikaPauline, Vice Chancellor of @MbararaUST, reminded PhD students that their work must be rooted in real-world problems. “A PhD is not just a degree; it is a commitment to solving real problems. With only 1% of Africa’s students at PhD level and Uganda needing over 10,000 PhD holders, your research matters. Align your work with real-world challenges, strengthen institutions, and build solutions for your communities. Your PhD is part of Africa’s future.”
