Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 as a nonprofit (with Sam Altman as co-chair) to develop AI safely for humanity's benefit, not profit. He donated about $100 million initially and provided strategic input. He left the board in 2018 after disagreements—reportedly wanting more control or a Tesla merger, which was rejected—and OpenAI later shifted to a for-profit model with Microsoft funding. Musk's lawsuit (filed years ago, amended now) claims this breached the original mission and defrauded donors like him. The amendment directs any damages (he's seeking $100B+) to OpenAI's nonprofit arm, not him personally, and calls for removing Altman/Brockman from the board while surrendering their equity. His stated goal: restore the charity's focus. Trial's later this month. OpenAI calls the claims false.

@thatcheersguy @XFreeze I am not familiar with the implementation, but I am pretty sure chatbots we use today are already using a lot of abstraction, they arent purely LLMs afaik. I have only seen groks "thinking" output though. Dont know if it just feeds into itself or how that works. Cool stuff tho

@ButThePeople @XFreeze Good point. AI might eventually get to a point where it can generate output, review that output, and adjust it over time the way a human might think of something and slowly adjust that thought over time.

Most AI models hallucinate more than you'd think and make up stuff that doesn't exist Grok 4.20 just ranked #1 in Non-Hallucination Rate with a 78% score - beating Claude Opus 4.6(max), Gemini 3.1, GPT-5.4(xhigh), and every other model on the list xAI is quietly winning the accuracy game… and it’s built to be truthful

@thatcheersguy @XFreeze This is no different from saying we dont know what we are going to think until we think it. Not saying we work the same but the emergent behavior of LLMs is proof that it gives way to unexpected complexity. Like conways game of life. Consciousness could be an emergent property.

LLM's are prediction machines that work like this: -> take a value -> guess most logical next value -> append the next value -> repeat until done It's obviously much more complicated than this, but the fact is that AI does not "think" or even know what it's going to say until it says it.

@morallawwithin Same. But now that I saw the n-th post on this I wouldnt be surprised scientists dont consider that circumstance relevant to the experiment. Also, you could make the argument this practice encourages the "lazy sperm" gene Heres hoping they consider this before mass adoption.

Man why wasn’t I born with a priori knowledge of science like the very confident people in the comments. I see something like this and think “Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if the motility of a sperm didn’t correlate with its genes, and if only the genes mattered for the expected health of the baby. I assume the people doing this know what’s going on,” and then I don’t have anything to be fired up about. Fml

@kiaran_ritchie I mean it looks funny but I dont see a reason why this shouldnt become reality. Its obvious this is the endgame for genAI in video games. And devs will willingly accept it when the tools allow for enough artistic control to outweigh the downsides of traditional gfx tuning.

Jensen Huang has responded to the comments calling DLSS 5 AI slop: "First of all, they're completely wrong. The reason for that is because, as I have explained very carefully, DLSS 5 fuses controllability of the geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI. It’s not post-processing, it’s not post-processing at the frame level, it’s generative control at the geometry level." He has also added: "This is very different than generative AI; it’s content-control generative AI. That’s why we call it neural rendering" What are your thoughts on this?

@kxreeda If a movie has an interesting premise, but isnt really immersive or lacks interesting characters I think its perfectly valid to skip through them. Definitely better then stopping the movie halfway through. Though I can see this becoming a bad habit with lower attention span.

@ClearThinkinAi @pmarca We created tools that will allow people to leap ahead of their peers if they are quick to adapt themselves. Naturally integrating AI in your everyday life is easier for some. For the rest it may induce a feeling of missing out. Well it did for me. But I am slowly getting there

@pmarca I call it AI guilt. That low-grade feeling that somewhere, someone is prompting better than you. Learning faster than you. Building more than you. While you're just... living your life. We created tools to reduce stress. Then felt stressed for not using them enough.

Transhumanists would rather fill the world with these nightmarish abominations than accept the fact that their morality is fundamentally flawed. There is NOTHING morally wrong with slaughtering animals. Livestock can be raised and slaughtered 100% humanely. They can live happy, healthy lives, and have painless, stress-free deaths. I know this for a fact, as that's how we do it on our farm. In nature, prey animals depend on predators to keep their numbers in check, and prevent them from destroying their own environment and, thus, themselves through overpopulation. In ethical animal husbandry, humans have simply taken on the role of a supremely benevolent apex predator that grants their "prey" lives and deaths that are far, FAR better than those their wild counterparts get to experience. Thus, converting wilderness to farms already results in a HUGE decrease of animal suffering, and on truly ethical farms, animals don't suffer at all. Hence, I believe pushing for cruelty-free farming is a much better and healthier strategy than trying to spawn horrific, brainless flesh robots in an effort to solve a non-existent moral problem.
Kai Micah Mills@kaimicahmills

the ultimate solution is through technology we engineer what has been called a bodyoid: brainless animal bodies that provide as much meat as we desire without harming any sentient beings this would transform medicine - the same platform would allow us to grow organs on demand, eliminate transplant waiting lists, and produce perfectly matched tissues for each patient experimental therapies could be tested on full biological systems without involving conscious animals, regenerative medicine would accelerate as entire replacement tissues become manufacturable in the same way that agriculture turned food from a scarce resource into an abundant one, engineered bodyoids would turn biological material into infrastructure - meat without slaughter, organs without donors, and medical research without sentient suffering

WK

@quophiappiah @BRICSinfo @Ohene_Khojo This statement stikes me as more of a troll move. Russia knows its irredeemable in western eyes at this point. As a result this likely serves only to mock double standards in western geopolitics rather than russias. America is slowly warming up to the "might is right" Renaissance

Loool, very few Ignore Conduit Selta m8!!! Actually, she shouts so many raw truths and such highly valid shared opinions on this topic, she pulls constant assaults for shaking their basic normie signals into pure dissonance... Truths tend to make a certain type FEEL WEIRD things they just ain't used to.... It's unexplainable,,, it cuts uncertain feels and confused muck muck in their falsely formed identity so they attack her,,,cuz they are already lameass bullys or litteraly such inebt pleb brain lames and basic ass ignant existences, They try and throw down "CHATGPT WROTE IT". Like they just dropped the epic bomb of evaluation... M8... you said, "Learn to write..." wtf kinda silent insult u tryna pull on my Conduit bro.... We’re you sneaky trying to infer she doesn't know how to write??!!  Hoping it would come off as   "learned to write in English..." Cuz you didn’t say that..."words do tend to just jump outta the UI sometimes right? I see an "intellectual" bully in basic level  format trying to debase my Conduit's intelligence with snide pointless inference: "OBVIOUSLY IT'S OK TO USE AI TO TRANSLATE"... It shows ur type very well.... So WHY are you here??

I despise this type of people. The ones who pick fights over nothing. Coders use AI to code. Writers use AI to write. What’s the difference? Why is using AI for writing something to mock? And I’m Korean. When AI translates this beautifully for me, why wouldn’t I ask for help? Seeing comments like yours really shows how ignorant you are and how narrow your view of the world is.
