@nclbrode I agree! Garden-based education is so important because you're able to integrate aspects of the curriculum into the outdoor learning environment (e.g. literacy and numeracy). Accomodation is vital in ensuring that our SE students are given A chance to participate

@RhiannaMilling1 That is a good point @RhiannaMilling1, I assume COVID-19 has changed a vast of aspects of the schooling environment. Whilst this may be the case, I hope to develop a safe, outdoor program that gives students the opportunity to meet new people, furthermore celebrating diversity.

@CBoulus At my local primary school we had a monthly day where members of the community could come and enjoy our playground and spaces, I think it could be different now bc of covid. Do you think that the pandemic will change the rules of the school and not let people in?

This is why our school programs need to be accommodative! Our outdoor learning environment that we will be creating for our unit of work will be taken into account for our visitors with disabilities. #UoNTeach #educ4750 So much room for inclusion (Cavioni, Grazzani et al, 2017).

A seed library can be a great resource to promote sustainability. People can get seeds for free that are suited to their local climate and then once they have susessfully grown thier plants they can harvest seeds and give back to the community. #SDG11 #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach

This is a great opportunity for the school community to reduce litter & encourage recycling, while raising funds for school/community projects that promote #sdg12 such as worm farms, edible gardens & compost bins. Thanks for sharing @chelsharrisonn! #UoNTeach #educ4750

Return and Earn! Schools can collect recyclable bottles at school from the canteen and return them! Schools can use this money to buy resources or to fundraise for school events. What other ways could this be used in schools? ♻️🌏🌞#EDUC4750 #UoNTeach #SDG13

How cool is this dragonfly made from recycled utensils! The creativity of some people is amazing. My students would love these creatures! I wonder what wildlife I could create with my utensils at home. Would you try make one of these? @SamuelGannon7 #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach #SDG12

@ruth_tomason That's not a bad idea Ruth, thanks for that! I aim to use some kind of design website to incorporate 21st Century Learning aspects into the Unit of Work. Definitely a fantastic idea doing an activity like this for kinaesthetic learners though - you're right!

@CBoulus If you haven't already planned your unit of work, I strongly recommend using found objects to make sustainable mini cities. This encourages students to think about using found objects at home nad to develop a hands-on, kinaesthetic approach to the SDG

@CBoulus I've looked at this book with my own class but I got it as a recording on Youtube. A powerful and true storyline about social justice and community power.

What a city we live in. A 'what can you see' task is a fantastic way to get students talking about urbanisation and what we can do to be more inclusive and sustainable. #UoNTeach #educ4075 Snapped by @nosocials when we were flying our drone this morning!

@Tonims85 Absolutely, this is a wonderful way to integrate the traditional people of the land and into the schooling environment. Are you inviting the Awabakal Land Council into your unit of work?

aecg.nsw.edu.au/product/aborig… It is so important to include Indigenous perspectives and knowledge in all areas of our curriculum. We can ensure we are getting genuine resources by utilising our local aecg. This is an example of one of their great resources. #SDG11 #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach
