I don't understand motel real estate valuations at all. $1,500,000 for a 30-room Motel 6 in a dying, depressed, grimy town of 7,500 people? Motel 6 franchise also was recently bought out by OYO, which looks like a nightmare (every OYO I've ever stayed in was 10x more disgusting than the worst Motel 6). And many of the locations for sale appear to have capitalization rates that look way too high to be true. Further, if I go by said $1.5M Motel 6 in ghettoville on any given night, it's maybe 30% booked at most. Rooms are $90/night. If operating expenses run 65% of gross profit, how are people making a go of this? I see these kinds of listings all over the country. Who the hell is buying them? How are they pulling it off? Why are the valuations so high? Are there any X accounts who post about this stuff? Books I could read? I want to understand this market badly, but I just can't figure out who would look at motels like these and actually buy them.

@PokemonRestocks To all the people buying 10+ of these, you know you can save some for the rest of us who just want one of each for master sets or fun collecting. There is no reason to need 10 of a single of these that isn't just hurting the hobby community. :/

BREAKING: Kamala Harris considers 2028 presidential run, or a run for California governor in 2026 - POLITICO "Harris is telling her advisers and allies to keep her political options open." "She is expected to explore those and other possible paths forward with family members over the winter holiday season."

@DataRepublican The problem is the vote blue no matter who. Also a lot of boomers and old school democrats don’t believe how terrible some of the leftoid ideas are. They literally could be presented with evidence of “Kamala supports funding for trans illegals” or “bidens got dementia” ..”no way”

If the GOP were smart, they would push and finance wokes in the Democratic party. Here's why. Gaslighting is a core feature of wokeism. They deny reality - because they want to substitute their own reality. It is their greatest weapon, but also their greatest weakness, because they deny reality to themselves as well. To crush wokeism in the future, GOP needs to embrace data and facts and rigor. This not only immunizes them to woke gaslighting; it also leaves the wokes vulnerable to their own gaslighting, as seen in 2024. And if the GOP can ensure that the wokes control the DNC - then the GOP has a strong foundation for the future.

@gmgauthier1967 @jeremykauffman Reading comprehension was at an 8th grade level in 2nd grade but never did better than barely pass math all the way through. Wasn't an IQ thing so much as effort. Math took effort to memorize equations and I refused. Aced it in college ez enough just by trying a bit.

@FischerKing64 Yet the transition will happen. More and more people will choose to save in money others can’t print. If you don’t you lose purchasing power if you do you can purchasing power. Incentives drive human action. Will nation states fight back? Yes so prepare for that.

Most crypto bros are just aggressively pumping BTC or whatever to make mucho $$ and never work. That’s the motivation on social media. But if you take it seriously, it’s revolutionary, will require mass violence, huge turmoil. You’re asking governments to relinquish one of their central powers. And they’re not gonna do it peacefully. The discourse is on one hand a scam, a Ponzi scheme - so dudes can hang out on the beach - or just way too glib. Btw - I think a stable limited currency is a good idea. It would prevent inflationary tactics that fund wars and the like. But if you think it’s just going to happen peacefully - it’s a dream.

35 miles of this bullshit because they're both governed at the same speed and neither of them has the good sense to back'er down and let the other one pass. And don't give me this "the one on the right is doing nothing wrong" bullshit cuz they're just as culpable. After a mile or two, swallow your pride and back it down. Now you both look like a couple of jagoffs. This is why we can't have nice things...

@NotABBWLover Have you ever been on I-80/94 into Chicago? There are 5 or 6 lanes, signs every mile stating no trucks in left 2 lanes. But all lanes have trucks and they are even using the express lanes when they are not allowed to. It freaken sucks.

This is me mentally watching Trump cabinet appointments. It's been an emotional rollercoaster. It has reinforced my absolute hate for the United States Senate and what's needed to get someone approved. We went from recess appointments to red flag law Pam Bondi and Dr. Oz. I started out pretty positive. Gaetz, Homan, Musk, RFK (IN THE ONLY POSITION I TRUST HIM IN) and Hegseth. Now... I won't doom this administration because it hasn't even started yet, and that'd be silly. Even if nothing got accomplished, it is vastly better than the alternative. That said, come January 20th, it's accountability time.

Rarely do I find myself on the same side of an issue with Richard Spencer outside one, legal immigration. A hill I'm willing to die on is that mass legal immigration is far more destructive to the USA than illegal, and it's not even close. Read the entire post before getting angry. Maybe I'll change your mind. This is not defending illegals, not by a long shot. I want everyone here illegally to be deported. That said, outside of coming here illegally, most aren't insane violent criminals. They're a burden on our financial system and our medical system, and they absolutely contribute to crime. It's certainly not the best and brightest sneaking in. It has to be dealt with. With that said, they do not have the power to change our hierarchical structure nearly as much as H1B visa workers. They simply aren't organized on their own. They're weaponized by bad actors in this country. Illegals are almost entirely stuck in a permanent caste system at the bottom. Without feeding them, cutting them checks, and housing them, much of the problem goes away. In regards to crime, Americans need to be prepared to defend themselves. Self-defense should be absolute. The police should be unleashed to crush the criminals, and any judge allowing them to go free should be removed from the bench and jailed. This should apply to all crime. The legal immigrants represent a tremendous danger to our way of life. They are here, empowered by the government, and have the ability to shift everything. Your perspective may be different if you're working a blue-collar job, but if you're in STEM or IT fields, you'll understand better. These legal immigrants will replace you. They'll settle into hiring manager positions, and suddenly, the office will look much different until it looks all the same. They'll practice extreme nepotism to the likes you've never seen. You can say it's not happening, but it is and legally. Their downfall is their hubris. They get a little power, and they can't help but brag about it. They can't help but brag about what many of us know already. A lot of immigration just comes down to revenge. The people supporting it either knowingly want this or are blinded by some nostalgic notion of the American dream. Both are dangerous, and both are destructive. The post below has 640k likes. They're empowered, and they hate you. I'm far less worried about the 5 foot tall abuelas and the landscaper working three jobs. I'm worried about a hierarchical shift we can't reverse. At this stage, this applies to every country. Immigration should be frozen for 10 years to allow us to fix ourselves. After that, it should be similar to the NBA draft. Only accept the absolute best. No middle men, no random IT workers. Want in? You better be gifted to a level rarely seen. Culturally, a mass wave of immigrants from even England would shift us so far left it'd be difficult to recover from. Stop falling for this Trojan horse. You will all look back on it one day and be disgusted that you were this gullible.

There are still places in the USA where you lose cell phone coverage. Fewer and fewer as time goes on. But sending people into this Wild West - young people on road trips forced to fall back on maps - might be a good thing.
