Well it is a hoax. Here is how we know: 1) We know what it was. A logo representing the mission commissioned by a priest from an artist in a Brazilian city. It is only 10 years old and was never an idol of the tribe. 2) The Tribe was all Catholic. But even when they were pagan, they never worshipped pachamama. They were animists who worshipped streams and trees. But again, they were Catholic at the time of the event. 3) The Mission brought a collection of symbols from the Amazon including canoes, baskets, plants, and the Logo. It was a display - the same sort you see with any other missionary at your parish. 4) It was in the yard while they were bowing but they were not bowing to it. As they bowed a priest was praying actual Catholic Prayers. Everyone there was Catholic. no one there was pagan. No one was praying to a goddess that this tribe never worshipped. Influencers who hated Francis either mistook what was going on or intentionally lied and just like the "fine people hoax" regular NPCs would say "I saw it with my own eyes". Not realizing my points 1-4 above and assuming it was an idol of a pagan tribe and they were bowing down to it rather than to Catholic prayers.

Some EO Churches actually rejected Rome’s assertion that Anglican holy orders are completely invalid. Hopefully 100% of EO’s are on board the opinion of Rome and the EO Churches that rejected such an idea. The Anglicans haven’t had a priesthood since adopting the 39 Articles, as the beliefs there nullify the ability to ordain sacrificing priests.
