Carotid injury during transsphenoidal surgery is a dreaded event for neurosurgeons. Preoperative knowledge of the anatomy, essential intraopertive tools (Doppler) and a methodical, deliberate action plan by the surgical team is necessary to avoid and mitigate this morbid surgical complication. Thanks to @MYOSpineMD @baxter_intl and @StrykerNS for allowing us to set up a successful and realistic arterial injury simulation for our amazing residents at @UCINeurosurgery. Skull base surgery remains the ultimate team sport and in a time of crisis, your team must come together 🫶🏽
