@sentdefender Do you think a temporary suspension of sanctions would actually change Iran’s negotiating position, or just delay the hard decisions?

According to the IRGC-affiliated news outlet Tasnim, as a part of ongoing negotiations, the U.S. has proposed that OFAC sanctions against Iran be suspended. At the time of writing, such reports are not confirmed, but if true, the move could be a ‘good faith’ gesture to ease pressure on Iran and entice them to shift left or right on key points of contention.

Iran did something almost unimaginable after the Cold War: It absorbed weeks of U.S. and Israeli strikes — and still managed to damage Gulf infrastructure and multiple U.S. military facilities across the region That changes how allies and rivals think about American power

@MyLordBebo A version of self propagandizing. If we avoid being wrapped up in jingoism, we can see the "enemy's" point of view is logical in terms of self interest & existential survival. Our eastward expansion towards Russia was a predictable causus belli. Likewise with Iran. Obvious

@james_roe It took a LOT (mountains of dead): to get rid of the monarchy in Europe; to for ir the Bolsheviks to rise, for the Chinese to claw up to US parity. Eventually, it will be very unpleasant when the system restricts peaceful change.

@C_R_Mile I tend to be an accelerationist who thinks your view is likely the only one that works, but that will suck for a lot of people, for as long as it has to suck to make them made enough for change. I'd rather avoid that if at all possible.

There were probably non humanoid ways to optimize this process, but that's not really the point. Robots that can seamlessly enter human spaces and perform at parity without sick days are a sea change. We need to make sure this benefits humanity, and not just oligarchs.

here x.com/Pepe733745533/… is an account of how Mossad tricked Reagan administration in 1986 into bombing Libya. This documented trickery in 1986 invites questions about whether there was similar trickery in in an important 1983 incident with similar objective of drawing US further into Israeli wars. An incident which 43 years later is as one of the 2 or 3 most important incidents in White House statement of revenge against Iran for "47 years": the bombing of US marines in Beirut in October 1983. At the time, southern Lebanon was occupied by Israel subsequent to their 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Caspar Weinberger, then Reagan's Secretary of Defense, has observed that the mission of the marines was very unclear and exposed them to being perceived as a component of the occupying Israeli invasion. In September 1983, US naval vessels bombarded Shia villages in Lebanon. The bombing of the US marines in Beirut was carried out by Shia resistance in southern Lebanon. This was two years prior to announcement of Hezbollah, but evidently involved the same factions as the subsequent Hezhollah. There is plausible reporting that Israeli intelligence knew of the attack in advance, but deliberately failed to warn US military. Assigning responsibility for the attack to //Iran// is based on reporting that Iran sent a cable to their embassy in Lebanon in late September calling for something dramatic. But the document remains unproduced to this day. Given other contemporary and current events, one can scarcely help but wonder whether Mossad had a role in this intelligence. Especially given the long secrecy and unavailability of the underlying document. Caspar Weinberger himself said in 2001 that the US didn't retaliate at the time because they lacked specific intelligence which could ensure that they were retaliating against the correct parties. And without such specific intelligence, Weinberger and the Reagan administration were not willing to authorize bombing. However, 25 year after Weinberger's 2001 statement (and 43 years after the incident itself) and apparently without any new intelligence for the attribution, the Israeli-backed FDD unequivocally blamed Iran for the 1983 Beirut bombing in their 2025 internet article, which was subsequently plagiarized by White House in their March 3, 2026 statement of malediction against Iran.

Mossad straight-up deceived the United States into bombing Libya in 1986 with one of the most cynical false-flag ops in history. Ex-Mossad officer Victor Ostrovsky spilled it all in The Other Side of Deception. They called it Operation Trojan. Mossad naval commandos snuck a secret relay device (the “Trojan”) into an apartment in Tripoli. It picked up fake radio messages from an Israeli ship at sea and rebroadcast them on Libyan frequencies so U.S. and British intelligence would intercept them as genuine Libyan orders. The messages made it look like Qadhafi was actively directing terrorist attacks worldwide. Mossad fed the Americans “confirming” intel from their own sources. The U.S. swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. Result? President Reagan ordered the April 14, 1986 bombing of Libya, killing civilians, derailing hostage releases, and sending a bloody message to the entire Arab world. Ostrovsky: “Operation Trojan was one of the Mossad’s greatest successes. It brought about the air strike on Libya that President Reagan had promised… the Trojan gave the Americans the proof they needed.” These deceptive bastards manipulated the world’s superpower like puppets to advance their agenda and bragged about it. From: The Other Side of Deception: A Rogue Agent Exposes the Mossad’s Secret Agenda by Victor Ostrovsky (p. 116) PDF: drive.google.com/file/d/177DG7p…

@james_roe No offense but I find this solution unworkable under conditions that are less than burn it all down and start over. One doesn't become a nihilist where remediation is possible. We have two parties controlling the system processes and they gatekeep change agents.

This is a masterclass on why China is rising and the United States is decaying: “In America, you can change the political parties but you can’t change the policies. Billionaires in America control all policy making. China is a vibrant market economy but it is not capitalist. Billionaires in China can’t control policy and capital does not have enshrined rights. In America, capital itself has risen above the nation. In the last 66 years China is being run by one single party, yet the political changes that have taken place have been wider and broader and greater than any other country in modern history.” This is why it is far better to have one party that serves the people than two parties that both serve corporations and billionaires.

Russia just dropped the ultimate reality bomb and straight from Putin’s desk while Trump lands in Beijing and Europe keeps yapping from the sidelines. Today the RS-28 Sarmat – NATO’s “Satan II” (always projection with NATO naming) blasted out of Plesetsk, followed its suborbital South Pole path, and hit the Kamchatka target dead-on after 5,500 kilometers in thirty minutes. Sixteen independently targetable warheads. Global reach. The system designed to laugh at any missile shield on Earth. Putin didn’t mince words as he laid out the specs himself: “This is the most powerful missile system in the world… equal in power to the existing Voivoda… the total yield of the delivered warhead is more than four times greater than any existing most powerful Western equivalent.” Suborbital trajectory for 35,000+ km range. Accuracy doubled. And best of all it laughs at every existing and prospective missile defense system. He confirmed it on the spot: the first combat-ready regiment goes on duty by the end of this year. This is the same missile that had teething problems but today? Flawless. The turnaround is pure engineering under pressure, and the message is crystal clear. The timing is surgical. The exact same time Iran’s parliament and atomic chief declared uranium enrichment non negotiable as Iran's conditions harden from where they were pre Feb 28th. The exact same window as Trump touches down in Beijing for his two day summit with Xi to discuss trade, Taiwan, critical minerals, and the Iran mess that already delayed the trip once. One day after the Ukraine ceasefire (May 9-11) expired. The test was academic at this point but more importantly it was an ice cold signal dropped onto every negotiating table on the planet. And the loudest message? It’s aimed squarely at the European chihuahuas. While Berlin, Paris, Brussels, and the rest of the NATO cheerleaders keep pumping boomerang sanctions, rewriting history, and pretending their paper tiger alliance can dictate terms to Moscow, Russia just put the world’s most powerful ICBM on the fast track to operational status. The same Europe that lectures about “rules-based order” while hiding behind American security guarantees that have never felt more hollow (and thankfully so) just watched Russia demonstrate the systems that actually rewrite the map in half an hour. The adults in the room are talking real power. The chihuahuas can keep barking. Their sanctions don’t reach low Earth orbit but they do hurt Europeans. Their virtue-signaling doesn’t stop hypersonic fire. Their endless NATO summits don’t change the physics of strategic deterrence. Natural consequences don’t negotiate with ridiculous loud mouth slogans. They answer with engineering reality and cold steel. Russia is reminding everyone who still builds the weapons that matter.

Germany Just Crossed the hard (World War) Red Line: Joint Factories for 1,500 km “Deep Strike” Drones with Ukraine – While Lying to Its Own People. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius flew into Kiev today (May 11) and proudly announced it: Berlin and Kiev are launching fullscale joint production of long-range attack drones capable of striking up to 1,500 kilometers deep into Russia. Look at the photo. From left to right: the Lyutyi (already hitting Russian oil refineries and airfields), the UJ-22 Airborne (used on Moscow), the Bober, and a jet-powered UAV — all proven weapons now getting German industrial backing, German money, and German engineering. This isn’t “helping Ukraine defend itself.” This is Germany actively building the infrastructure for a major European war against Russia while telling its citizens it’s just “humanitarian aid” and “defensive support.” They’re long past hiding it anymore. Pistorius himself called it “deep strike” capabilities explicitly designed to hit Russian military and civilian economic infrastructure far behind the front lines. Joint ventures in Germany. Mass production. for thousands of drones with of millions of euros poured in. Europe’s largest economy is fast becoming an official co-belligerent — manufacturing weapons on its own soil whose sole purpose is to kill Russians and escalate the conflict. While Germany's establishment lecture their population about “peace” and “solidarity,” they’re loudly (no longer quietly) turning their country into a launchpad for wider war. The mask is off. Russia sees this clearly. The Russian people see it. And history will remember who lit the fuse. The Special Military Operation continues. Russia didn’t start this. But she will finish it and on Russia's terms. Wake the hell up Germany, you're being betrayed in a very familiar way.
