@99_Colorado The regen breaking on the cybertruck is strong. If she disengaged and wasn’t pressing the accelerator it would have decelerated drastically. Especially going uphill.

Okay my whole feed right now is this, and watching this video, well something cleared up for me. Elon said FSD was disengaged 4 seconds before. Guess what? This clip leading up to and crashing is 4 seconds long. I’ve changed my mind, she had more than enough time.

'TERRIFYING': Dashcam video shows the moment a Tesla Cybertruck, allegedly operating in self-driving mode, nearly sent a Houston mom and her infant off a bridge before violently crashing into an overpass barrier. The woman claims she suffered multiple injuries from the incident and is now suing the automaker for $1 million.

Exactly, my decision to buy a cybertruck had very little to nothing to do with fuel. It has been a nice perk. But the lack of maintenance to me is a vastly more important one. Although after owning it, you start noticing the no longer having to stop at a gas station, I just can’t imagine going back to a gas vehicle.

The older version of FSD didn’t do it. The driver did. We still don’t know why or how the disengagement occurred. But what we do know is that the video starts 4 seconds before the crash, which is exactly when she took over/disengaged. In that time, the vehicle isn’t slowing. So it does not appear that she was braking at the start of the video. She must have had her foot on the accelerator at that time—and likely had it there before the disengagement too—otherwise the truck would have been slowing drastically.

There is no evidence that they were even conscious after the accident. You also can't have manual releases so easily accessible that a child could accidentally open the door. Plus, we don't know if the doors were jammed after a massive accident in which the driver hit a tree. Most cars typically require the jaws of life to extract people after such a high-impact crash. So many unknowns, but you jump straight to Tesla liability when someone crashes their car. The anti Tesla bias is strong.

@wholemars @pidezhan We kind of do. Car never slowed down. 2 lanes is about 24ft plus small 3ft median and 3ft of shoulders. The truck crosses this in about 2 secs. So 15ft/sec or 11mph. Let’s even say my estimates are off by 50% that only brings the speed up to 16mph.

Why don’t you calculate it yourself. Estimate how long it takes the car to cross those two lanes of traffic and then take the average width of lanes plus the approximate size of the median and shoulders. That will give you the feet per second it was traveling. By my estimate they were traveling 11mph or close to it. But do your own research stop accepting bogus FUD.

Where is the proof she was doing 60? From the video, I never see the car slow or even brake significantly—which, if you’ve driven a Tesla, you know means that lifting off the accelerator causes quick deceleration. As for speed, it appears nearly constant in the video with no significant slowing. She also crosses two lanes of traffic plus a small median and little to no shoulder. Standard lane width is 12 ft, the median looks about 3 ft, and the combined shoulders are maybe 3 ft. 12 + 12 + 3 + 3 = 30 ft. 30 / 2 = 15 ft per frame (assuming 2 frames per second), so she appears to be going about 15 ft/sec, or roughly 11 mph. @grok can you check my math and also review the video to see if you can estimate the speed?

The tent easily sleeps two adults and our two pugs sleep inside the Cybertruck where the temp is regulated. When it’s needed we use a portable ac that mounts on the outside of the tent - it’s a game changer! These last few freezing nights we’ve been using a heating blanket and electric hand warmers in pockets and under pillows. Perfectly comfortable 👌🏻

@DevonGuerrero Doesn’t prove that. The fact that she disengaged and the truck didn’t slow significantly indicates she had her foot on the accelerator and may have been pressing it the whole time.

Thinking back on early versions of FSD—or rather, Navigate on Autopilot—this is massively ahead of where Tesla started. It will be exciting to see how quickly they improve. I’m bullish on them catching up to FSD v14 within two years. And this alone makes Rivian potentially worth investing in just for the autonomy.
Lang@SunflowerEvryDy

Poor guy is soo stressed out with Vivian @Rivian Universal Hands Free driving. If you don't have road rage tendencies you probably will have it now 😬
