@vancolour @SPhillipsAB Lots of missed opportunities for him. He should have said some covid measures were justified, also everytime Joe mentioned he would only come to Canada if PP is PM he should have said we have a new government, although we don't agree everything Canada is looking better...

@CanadianJordan8 @SPhillipsAB Yeah, a lot of Joe ranting… my favourite was the classic JRE trope of railing against seeds oils, specifically calling out canola oil, as Pierre nods along without a defence for Canada’s canola oil producers.

Pierre Poilievre had a good, albeit forgettable, chat with Joe Rogan. They hit classic JRE tropes (combat sports, lifestyle optimization) but avoided anything controversial or even timely (Trump, the war). It won’t change minds. It wasn’t bad or ‘based’. It just won’t matter.

@dmacpher No doubt the risk was high, had he not done the previous podcast blunder regarding PM Trudeau and RCMP he might have slipped or taken the bate. The Castro comments low hanging fruits, he held back. as you say left disinformation unchecked, i.e MAID and COVID Mandates.

@mikethenavyguy Half the interview was Pierre asking Joe questions, easy to see the MO was control the narrative, run the time..in and out with minimal damage. The interview was more important than the content.

Well Carney is now on his holidays. While you are here freezing and wondering how to pay your rent in 2 weeks or out still trying to find a job after your company shut down, Carney is in Italy enjoying the heat and fancy meals.

@DimitrisSoudas Or: Is this going to be the CPC play portrait the majority by floor crossers as illegitimate? begs the question, should PMMC call the bluff? Drop the writ? The govt might just be looking for a legitimate reason for an elxn, if that is how the oppo sees it, then see you in 6 weeks

May I ask a sincere question? If, in the last election, you earned 169 seats and members of Parliament from other parties expressed a genuine desire to join the government caucus and sit as Conservative MPs, would you truly turn them away? Would you refuse the opportunity to strengthen your mandate and broaden your coalition, simply because they were not originally elected under your banner?
Pierre Poilievre@PierrePoilievre

Mark Carney is using back room deals to seize a costly majority that voters rejected, which will enable Liberals to balloon debt, inflate the cost of living, block resources and turn criminals loose on our streets. Conservatives will do what we promised voters: fight for a Canada that is affordable, safe and strong at home and unbreakable abroad.

Mark Carney is currently attempting what is maybe the least democratic thing in Canadian history, cobbling together an illegitimate majority he didn’t earn during the election through backroom deals and who knows what else. If you want a majority government in Canada, you should earn it at the ballot box.

Excellent news for Poilievre. Genuinely He avoids a snap election where the CPC would be destroyed Now focus on 2028 and stop being so weak (or move over and let someone else do it)

If Mark Carney wants a majority government so badly, he should have the courage to ask Canadians directly for one—and actually earn it from them. Poaching opposition MPs and running backroom deals to manufacture a majority that nobody voted for is utterly shameful.

RUMOR: Liberals planning a HOME EQUITY TAX If they win a majority there will be nothing to stop them. The 2016 Liberal proposal may be coming back. SENIORS who rely on their home equity for retirement will be hit HARDEST.

@DaleDobach72006 @CTVNews Oil is an international commodity, oil from Alberta is priced based on world prices. Do you actually think oil companies will sell oil for less locally? Or look for who pays market price? What you are advocating for is a national energy program...

@CTVNews I just wish we had oil in canada so things that happen in the middle east didn't immediately affect our gas prices. Luck of the draw i guess, Canada being a country with zero oil .

We 🇨🇦's are so lucky to have a thinking human in the PMO right now. Identify the hypothetical and then express an answer that includes the broadest range of hypothetical possibilities. If Canadians, or our allies, are in danger we will always stand up in defence. IN DEFENCE.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

@prairiecentrist Ruling out could bring more trouble to the PM of Canada if called upon by our NATO allies or if there were immediate threats to Canadians. He even specified he does not back the ongoing offensive and our support would not be attached to it.

@prairiecentrist Everything Carney is saying is taking out of context. Listening to the full statement shows nuance to the comment. I rather a PM saying one can't categorically rule out participation in a hypothetical scenario, as we would defend our allies and Canadians when it makes sense ..

For all of those who have been blaming Canada for "not making a deal," welcome to reality. The countries who negotiated "deals" are now getting whacked with higher tariffs, unilaterally and arbitrarily. They did nothing to provoke that. He's just angry with the United States Supreme Court. The tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum are in violation of our earlier deal: CUSMA. Deals don't matter when negotiating with a counterparty who doesn't respect them. We still have to do our best to preserve what we can of CUSMA and "negotiate," but with eyes wide open. That means dispensing with the naïve belief that we can return to normal trade relations anytime soon.
The White House@WhiteHouse

"Effective immediately, all National Security TARIFFS, Section 232 and existing Section 301 TARIFFS, remain in place, and in full force and effect. Today I will sign an Order to impose a 10% GLOBAL TARIFF, under Section 122, over and above our normal TARIFFS already being charged..." - President Donald J. Trump

@brianlilley Considering Toyota just announced yesterday the new 2027 Highlander will be an EV. Sure looks like the company is moving more and more towards EV's. Knowing Toyota has 2 plants in Ontario perhaps plans to retool these to build the new Highlander is in the works.

We don’t know that the future of the automotive industry is electric. Toyota, the world’s largest auto company and a pioneer of EVs, certainly isn’t all in on electric. Interesting that Hodgson posted this just days after the Carney government “walked away” from the EV mandate.
Tim Hodgson@timhodgsonmt

The future of the automotive industry is electric, and our government is betting on Canada's to seize the opportunities that future brings.
By investing in 8000 new EV chargers from coast to coast to coast, we're building a network of EV infrastructure that will connect our country, support auto jobs, and make it easier to choose electric.
