What concrete actions did you take to help address this humanitarian issue? Taking pictures at the Rafah crossing and talking to aid organizations is just show business. get some real action done against Israel to open the boarder and allow aid in.
Ahmed Hussen@HonAhmedHussen

Canada is gravely concerned by the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Gaza. I went to the border to hear first hand the unacceptable challenges aid organizations are facing getting in even the most basic amounts of aid.

CJPME welcomes the @NDP motion for Canada to recognize Palestinian statehood. While recognition would not in itself force Israel’s withdrawal from the OPT, it would support Palestinians in their ability to access justice in international forums like the ICC.

@Rob_Oliphant your responses to the countless number of petitions submitted by member of the parliament asking the #Canadian government to take action to pressure #Israel and stop the war in #Gaza does reflect the gov. stand, lot of empty words & no action. Enough! do something!
Rob Oliphant@Rob_Oliphant

What’s happening in Gaza is a tragedy. Netanyahu's military operation in Rafah will be devastating. Asking Gazans to move again is unacceptable. We need a sustainable peace. Today in the House of Commons:

Clearly @JustinTrudeau & @Oliviachow value one community more than the other, the double standard is sickening and must stop!
Amira Elghawaby@AmiraElghawaby

Hospitals and medical workers must always be safe to provide important services for patients and their families. Last night's protest route in front of the Mount Sinai hospital had a negative impact and that's troubling and wrong in a society that cherishes freedom of assembly and the right to protest, as well as the right to feel safe. Yet also troubling and wrong is the rush to label protesters as antisemitic and/or terrorist sympathizers. If police determine any action was motivated by hate, then it should be unequivocally condemned because there can be no justification for antisemitism. Not ever. Just as there should be no excuse for the indiscriminate killing of any and all innocent men, women, and children -- which is what demonstrators were actually protesting. Anyone who condemns one but not the other is demonstrating to all of us how Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism operate to devalue the lives of those deemed less than human and unworthy of protections, including those afforded by international humanitarian law. Let's not forget that Canadian Palestinians with family in Gaza have watched in horror as their loved ones, their friends and neighbours, have been bombed, starved, displaced, maimed and killed these past four months - with no end in sight to this madness. Thousands of Canadians from coast to coast to coast of every faith and background are also devastated by the violence and forceful displacement they are witnessing on their screens every day. Many have joined the hundreds of peaceful protests that have taken place across the country. And many report being silenced and/or having faced repercussions for standing up in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Meanwhile, in the past two weeks alone, there have been reports of hate-motivated graffiti found on an Islamic Centre in Cambridge, Islamophobic graffiti left outside the prayer room of a provincial government building, and a Muslim woman assaulted and robbed in Mississauga. Where are the condemnations of these acts? Enough with the double standards. Everyone, everywhere, deserves to live in safety, with dignity, and in freedom.

Thank you @Alexboulerice and @HMcPhersonMP and the entire team of the #NDP, this is a long overdue step that Canada should’ve taken long time ago.
Alexandre Boulerice@alexboulerice

#Palestine #Gaza #polcan

Canada brings sanctions against 11 people affiliated with Hamas, but not yet a single Israeli. After nearly 28,000 people killed in Gaza and the ICJ ruling on the risk of genocide, this shows an unacceptable double standard. Canada's sanctions must include Israeli war criminals.

Thank you for advocating to protect Canadian charters of rights and the freedom of expression. Universities should be THE PLACE for free speech. Questioning the main narrative about the Middle East should never be a reason of academic disputes nor disciplinary measures.
Shafqat Ali MP@shafqatalimp

Students and professors are being reprimanded for expressing reasonable views about the Middle East conflict. Freedom of speech on campus must be protected. Students should feel safe. That’s why we wrote to university Presidents. See letter: cbc.ca/news/politics/…

Foreign Affairs Committee are afraid to have tough investigation and are hoping things get solved by itself. this is not a situation where you can apply the “wait and see” strategy that strategy has been tried for 75 years and only led to more tragedy. Thank you @HMcPhersonMP
Heather McPherson@HMcPhersonNDP

Call members of Canada's Foreign Affairs Committee and tell them: It’s time to hear from Canadians, Palestinian and Israeli civil society, and humanitarians demanding a ceasefire - time to build a peaceful and just future. Ask them to support a study on Israel/Palestine today.

Today is the seventh anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting where six worshippers were gunned down and 19 injured. A night thay changed this country. A night that changed this community. A night that forever altered how we see our place in #Canada. It is because we honour their memory and their legacy that we have decided to cancel our meeting with PM Justin Trudeau as part of NCCM's national Advocacy Day today, focused on combating systemic #Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism. Enough is enough. We have waited long enough for empty promises to fulfill themselves, from an effective online harms bill, to intervention on Quebec's Bill 21, to the affirmation of Palestinian human rights. We either believe in human rights, or we don’t. This is why, in consultation with leadership from coast to coast, we made this decision.

I have set up a reoccurring donation to @UNRWA. UNRWA provides lifesaving support to innocent Palestinian civilians. I believe in the work they do & I stand in solidarity with the 30,000 workers providing life-saving humanitarian aid. Donate here: donate.unrwa.org/-landing-page/…

Canada is almost certainly aware that UNRWA is the only organization with meaningful capacity to deliver aid at any scale in Gaza, and that the UN is warning of its collapse. There's no other org to replace it. Does Canada want the entire aid infrastructure in Gaza to collapse?
Ahmed Hussen@HonAhmedHussen

Canada is committed to providing critical and immediate assistance to the Palestinian civilians affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The campaign against UNRWA - based on allegations against 0.04% of its staff - will kill Palestinians. After the ICJ ruling ordering more humanitarian aid, it may even be genocidal. My new video taking this sickening campaign apart 👇👇 youtu.be/jtuAfGH9-HY

Thank you for your relentless support for the Palestinian people. It is a weird time that we have to send thanks to someone for being a human! I hope other MPs take notes and learn from you!
Heather McPherson@HMcPhersonNDP

All states, including 🇨🇦, have a responsibility to end suffering in Gaza. Canada’s decision to halt to UNRWA funding is wrong. Investigations must proceed, but this punishes the starving people of Gaza who need a ceasefire and for whom UNRWA is one of their only sources of help.
