Hello, world. AI cinema, music, and storytelling have crossed a threshold that the world may not fully appreciate yet. The content is starting to connect on deeper levels: plot, emotion, meaning… the things that make art real. Most of the creators are working without the support they should have: no infrastructure, no path to a living, no real audience to grow into. Canonfire is building it. A home for artists making the most interesting work in AI media, and for the audiences who want in. More soon.

YT and Netflix have archaic and top heavy economic models. Not to mention the fact that they are actively demonizing and demonetizing AI content. The lack of sensible incentives for the best AI creators will drive them elsewhere - the same dynamic that drove traditional creators to YT, Netflix, and other platforms back when. New platforms that create AI native incentive structures will have a real opportunity to attract away the emerging market share of AI content (and the best IP). Our company is building one version of this.

If you use AI as a tool to play animator or play artist you really need to work on yourself. You can actually do those things instead of pretending, if you really wanted to make a movie you can. Using Gen AI isn’t going to make you a film maker stop making excuses and get to work

Pretty fascinating stuff here. Essentially, Hollywood is preparing for AI replicas and assets in their films. Actors are now setting up contractual terms and guarantees to ensure they get a slice of the savings. What does that mean for us? 1) Serious AI filmmaking is undeniable. It's here. 2) There is a massive opportunity for independent artists to freely explore the technology in a way Hollywood still refuses to fully accept.
