@sfrantzman Why's it sad? Obviously people appreciate those who defend them and their land from racist well armed settler colonists?

Seems difficult to remove this group or disarm it or get the Lebanese government to. It’s sad but after 922 days of war there seems like almost no local incentive or initiative to get rid of Hezbollah?
איתי בלומנטל 🇮🇱 Itay Blumental@ItayBlumental

A Lebanese who returned to his village in southern Lebanon was shocked: Hezbollah flags are there, Iranian flags are there - but there isn’t even a single flag of the state of Lebanon 😪🇱🇧

@DrJillStein Stfu about antisemitism. It is a statement of fact that those IDF killers are Jews.

Correction. Israeli Zionists (NOT Jews) are hunting children for fun. Zionism is not Judaism. Israel does not stand for Jews. Israel stands for Zionists, whatever their religion. Confusing Israel with Judaism is driving a surge in antisemitism.

BREAKING: BBC has compiled evidence of more than 160 Palestinian children deliberately shot in the head by IDF soldiers and snipers in Gaza. They concluded the worst thing ever: "Israeli jews are hunting children for fun."

@maxblndz @d4nnytye A greater degree of wealth redistribution, less militarism, less overt censorship of anyone protesting against genocide, we wouldn't be seeing the abolition of jury trials, potentially some small steps towards the democratisation of the economy, e.g. real nationalisation of water

unfortunately i do think britain is basically irredeemable and that the level of political education needed to undo decades of psychological damage and fundamentally change our society would take decades barring some kind of extreme catalyst event. but it’s okay

Owen Jones gets very upset if you don’t call Iran, Venezuela and Cuba “regimes”. This is the kind of “leftist” the NATO dictatorships allow to become prominent.

@s_m_marandi Address why you said Lebanon was part of the ceasefire but now you pretend negotiate as it gets slaughtered! It looks like your politicians have completely sold out but are dragging it out to save face. Is that you as well?

BREAKING - @zarahsultana exercises Parliamentary Privilege to expose the unjust nature of the Filton 24 re-trial. UK press has been court ordered not to publish these details. “If convicted, they and 18 others will be sentenced as terrorists, but the jury will not be told that”

Lord Robertson is a good man that has been passionate about defence spending and Nato all through his political career. He struck with the Labour right wing when it was neither fashionable nor a good career move. Naturally Labour right wingers have gravitated towards the defence portfolios down the years, and Robertson is a premier example. So when he says “We cannot defend Britain with an ever-expanding welfare budget,” he is bringing his politics, as well as his expertise, to the debate. He is not beyond challenge. Nor would he expect to be.

@viraameli @owenjonesjourno @ProgIntl If he acknowledged this he'd have to actually oppose British imperialism in a way that isn't allowed. If he constantly bleats about how anyone fighting it also happens to be bad he gets to keep his job, book deals, TV appearances etc. Not even sure he's bright enough to realise.

@owenjonesjourno @ProgIntl Sure if the West allows true sovereignty alongside full freedoms is possible. You just have never been subjected to external Western domination and a familial lived experience of coups, so you don’t get it because of privilege.

@viraameli @ProgIntl OK, you don't think the global south can have independent free media until imperialism is overthrown. We have completely different worldviews, and mine is that democracy, socialism, and freedom are intertwined and universal principles for all humanity.

Professor Mohammad Marandi on Al Mayadeen: "Axios is not a reliable source, especially regarding the negotiations in Islamabad. What they reported is not accurate and not correct — and I can say that with confidence since I was there and was informed about the course of events." What happened in the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing strikes in Lebanon are blatant violations of the ceasefire. These escalatory tactics will not succeed. On US blockade attempts: China stated its agreement with Iran is still in effect and oil tankers will continue passing through the Strait to Chinese ports. The US cannot implement this blockade completely because it will very significantly affect commercial routes in the Gulf of Oman — they'll be forced to pursue not only Iranian tankers but other ships too, which will be very dangerous for them and increase the cost of war.

British drones flew over Lebanon before, during & after Israeli massacre in Lebanon. I asked the PM @10DowningStreet if: 1. The drone flights coordinated with the Lebanese army? 2. Was intelligence shared with Israel and/or the US? 3. What is the role of UK armed forces in the Israeli land grab & ethnic cleansing? 4. Have any weapons supplied by the UK to Israel been used in Lebanon? The PM's refusal to answer any of my questions is disappointing. #lebanonisbecominggaza #FREEPALESTİNE

These washed-up decrepit trotskyists actually expelled us (the CPGB-ML) from their “left labour” “anti-war movement”. Why? For OPPOSING the Neo-Nazi NATO Genocidal war on Libya WHICH THEY SUPPORTED - as in their trotskyite “logic” Gaddafi was a “dictator”. They are too cowardly to call for “Victory to Iran” - because they are CIA/MI6 certified “leftists”. Have they expressed any solidarity with @Rango1917 since his arrest and suspension for HIS EPIC ANTI-WAR SPEECH!? youtu.be/BGrVIHqmOlk?si… Not a bit of it. They are the enemies of the working class and give socialism and anti-imperialism a bad name. Discard their mis-leadership. Join us. thecommunists.org

Inside The Mind Of A Hamas Fighter As He Hunts An IDF Sniper Target. Yakov Hezienski. Family name changed to Hevir. 32 years old. Family owns several restaurants and hotels in the US, Israel, France and Poland. Since Covid they’ve heavily invested in tech tools that allow home officing. Dropped out of college. Tried to get an economics degree, but spent three years womanizing, boozing, partying and playing video games. Black sheep of the family. Lives in a West Bank settlement with his wife and their three kids. Does not have a real job. Claims to be a community worker. Meaning he travels around and tries to convince young Jews to come and live in the West Bank. Not clear if he is being paid for that. Possibly never did a day of paid work, unless you count his service in the IDF as a job. He’s a sniper. Code name Detergent. There is clear proof he has sniped children as young as 8. His specialty is shooting them in the groin or the throat. His assigned hunter wonders how someone can have children at home and then travel to a post-apocalyptic wasteland to put a bullet in the bodies of children roughly the same age as his own kids. His hunter is 24. His hunter no longer goes by any name. His hunter is only known as Adl, which could be translated as Divine Justice. Adl has been stalking Yakuv for 23 days. He barely eats, and barely drinks, he becomes one with the rubble and the filth and the car wrecks. He munches on almonds and raisins his pockets are stuffed with. He visualizes non-stop the moment his bullet will enter Yakuv’s body. Reality is first conceived in the mind. Adl has no wife and no children, he is entirely dedicated to his mission. Adl has almost no possessions. He has virtually no attachments other than to his work. He has kept his family at a distance for fear being associated with a member of the armed resistance could get them into trouble. On rainy days he misses his mother, because she would let him sit on her lap and together they would draw or paint blossoming orchards. And yet he doesn’t want to be anywhere else. He’s trained for this for years. He does not celebrate his victories, because they are only granted by Allah and so not his victories in the end. Only if he is humble can he serve Allah as a tool of retribution. If he thinks impure thoughts Allah can no longer use him to deliver justice. On the 24th day Yakuv is hit right between the eyes. Adl catches a wicked thought and chastizes himself for it. He regrets that Yakuv does not get to suffer more, he asks for forgiveness. It’s wrong to celebrate the death of any human being, no matter how vile his choices in this life. Allah will decide how much Yakuv gets to suffer from this point forward. Back at the base Adl refuses to smile when he is complimented. He stays serene. He rejects an offer of lighter duties for a period of two weeks. He only asks for a new profile to scout. Adl’s great grandparents were shot and burned alive, along with all their children at Deir Yassin. Except for Adl’s grandmother, who survived by lying still under a pile of corpses. 60 plus years of postponed payment for sins is but a fraction of a second for Allah. When he will be too old to function as Allah’s bringer of justice Adl plans to settle down and put as much effort into growing fruit as he is now putting into hunting. First eradicate the jailors, then nourish the liberated. Adl knows the cure for all humanity’s illnesses and painful cravings. Humility. A medicine too bitter for most to swallow.
