The @essendonfc app is more excited than I am about the second half. Was worse when the second sentence was the same last week, when we were down by 8 goals. Maybe a slight rework to the push notification is in order when we keep losing? 🤔 #afldonsroos

Trump attacks Texas Democrat James Talarico — and gets a fiery sermon in response he won’t soon forget. Donald Trump apparently thought he could score cheap political points by calling James Talarico “an insult to Jesus,” because the Texas Democratic Senate candidate is “too progressive” and believes that God does not discriminate based on gender. Unfortunately for Don the Demented, he picked the wrong person. Standing in an African American church in Texas, Talarico didn’t just respond — he delivered a moral reckoning. “The President of the United States just said that I insulted Jesus,” Talarico began. “You know what insults Jesus? Denying healthcare to the sick while cutting taxes for billionaires.” And that was only the beginning. “You know what insults Jesus?” he continued. “Deporting strangers and separating babies from their mothers.” Then he went even further, turning his anger toward war, corruption, and hypocrisy. “You know what insults Jesus? Bombing innocent schoolchildren in Iran and sending our brave men and women to die in yet another endless war… Covering up the Epstein files and then refusing to hold a single person accountable.” This wasn’t ordinary politics. It was a full-scale moral indictment. Talarico, whom Trump criticized for supporting transgender Americans and for saying that “transgender kids are God’s children,” completely flipped the script. Instead of backing down, he built his argument on the very teachings Trump tried to weaponize. “I’m not a perfect Christian,” he said. “There was only one perfect Christian, and he was crucified 2,000 years ago.” And then came the most powerful line: “Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves… Can we imagine war in heaven? Can we imagine intolerance in heaven? Can we imagine poverty in heaven? Then why do we tolerate it here on Earth?” This is how you respond. Not with insults. Not with fear. But with clarity and conviction. Trump tried to smear him. Instead, Talarico delivered a sermon that is now echoing far beyond that church.

A man was killed by a "coward punch" by another man in Australia and "One-Punch" laws were created overnight. Meanwhile one women gets killed by their partner every eight days and there's still "nothing we can do about it".
Helen S Fields@Helen_Fields

Absolutely sick to death of hearing about how the new @louistheroux documentary has made people think about attitudes to women. Lots of MPs jumping on the bandwagon. I mean, no disrespect to Louis - I’m grateful for the highlight - but for God’s sake… Women get killed by their partner every week. Tiny Man Tate has been a thing for years. Domestic violence shelters are overwhelmed. Women have been waving the red flags about incels and attitudes for years. We’ve been begging for change. We’ve been highlighting the serious threat of anti-women social media. Then a MAN makes a documentary and suddenly everyone’s interested? Do you not all think that this might be part of the problem?

Women: We are begging you to fund research about our bodies so we can understand and treat conditions like endometriosis and breast pain, develop clinical trials dedicated to women’s health, and restore our autonomy Men in power: Nah, let’s make abortion punishable by death and start more wars

It’s 2026 and women are still second-class citizens. We’re not mad enough. 1. !raq just made it legal for girls to be married from the age of 9. 2. Afganistan recently legalized men beating their wives until they bleed or break a bone. 3. In 2022, USA took away the constitutional right to abortion. Since then, many states have made it partly or totally illegal to have an abortion. 4. In 2026 the Epstein Files were released. Powerful men across the world were part of a system that graped and exploited vulnerable girls. How could this go on for so many years? And how is no one in jail for it yet? 5. Musk' relased Grok AI. Men used it to undress girls. When Musk was confronted, he answered by laughing. 6. Home is the most dangerous place for women. Every 10 minute a girl/woman is killed by an intimate partner or family member. 7. Women make less than men ALL OVER THE WORLD. For every dollar a man makes, a woman makes 77 cent. Stop asking why feminists are angry. Start asking why the hell the rest of the world isn’t!!!

Yesterday the Govt tried to quietly announce that they had approved a 4.41% average increase in private health insurance premiums. The largest increase in 9 years. Cost of living pressures are already biting hard, and I regularly hear from people who have paid PHI for decades, but still face huge gap fees when they need treatment. Meanwhile, some of the biggest insurers, including Medibank and Bupa, have posted climbing profits. How will Australians benefit from this record rise? abc.net.au/news/2026-02-1…
