I just want to give a shoutout to Ahmed Tigani, the commissioner of DOB. This man was personally workshopping with tenants during the day and then answering questions from the public on his personal Instagram at like 8pm on a Friday. What an amazing choice @NYCMayor

What’s great about the tenant protection/YIMBYism synthesis is that the two policies are perfectly designed to complement each other. Rent control turns tenants into YIMBYs and increasing supply makes rent control more effective. It’s a virtuous cycle. researchgate.net/publication/36…

Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.
