Tenants deserve REST. The tenant movement won historic rent laws in 2019 and the REST Act ensures that the movement continues.

This is one of my cases. The Tenants Counsel Network used deceptive marketing and provided few results aim at tenants facing eviction. As part of the deal the firm will close down and refund $172k back to the tenants.
NY AG James@NewYorkStateAG

I'm shutting down the Tenants Counsel Network, a law firm that trapped New Yorkers facing eviction in illegal agreements, made them pay monthly fees, and failed to provide legal services.   Now, we're getting the New Yorkers who were cheated their hard-earned money back.

As a Flatbush resident and a lefty Mamdani supporter, I feel compelled to publicly support this upzoning. Coney Island Ave is an ideal corridor for new multifamily housing, which, as a moderate YIMBY, I think is badly needed and can exist in harmony with the historic homes nearby

Rent stabilization allows families to remain in their communities, but localities outside NYC have been unable to benefit from such protections. Proud to pass @sarahana’s #RESTAct through the Assembly Housing Committee to provide a common-sense path for localities to opt in.

Go team, let’s do this! 🙂
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

For years, New Yorkers have been priced out of their own neighborhoods as outside investors have profited. With @CMSandyNurse's COPA legislation, when many apartment buildings go up for sale, tenants and nonprofits would have a chance to buy the building before investors. I'm proud to support COPA, grateful for Councilmember Nurse's partnership, and looking forward working with City Council to pass this important bill.

Demolition isn’t so clear cut under New York’s Good Cause legislation. The gray area is one of the few reasons a landlord can evict rent-paying tenants in unregulated apartments under the 2024 tenant protections law. thecity.nyc/2026/05/13/goo…

This was a fun one: “Explain It to Me Like I’m High” with Ilana Glazer. How do we fix our housing crisis? More apartments … and more (housing) coupons.

Thrilled that the $12B Adams Budget Gap will be closed & NYC won’t face devastating cuts. Instead we're getting major investments in NYCHA, childcare & consumer protection from @NYCMayor. Let's keep fighting until the wealthy pay their fair share for the city we all deserve.

Organized NYers backed @NYCMayor Mamdani to do the impossible: Close $12B gap left by Adams’s fiscal mismanagement & make historic investments in NYC’s tenant majority. We look fwd to the city’s housing plan, at a time when real estate has made windfalls from tenant suffering.

Politico is reporting that a potential terrorist attack in NYC is a uniquely “huge liability” for the mayor… because of “who he is” ??? This would NEVER be said about a mayor of another faith.

Hon. Vanessa L. Gibson, MPA (She, Her, Hers)
A new day of accountability and government action for the families of Robert Fulton Terrace and Fordham Towers in the Bronx. Last week, we joined together with Mayor Mamdani, HPD, the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants, Legal Aid and Our Bronx, to announce a historic step forward for tenant protections and housing stability. The announcement of a $31M civil action against these negligent landlords is an important action that takes steps to ensure necessary repairs and emergency work is completed at these buildings and a long-term plan to bring hope and stability to tenants with the hiring of a Chief Restructuring Officer. The pain and stories of tenants at these buildings is horrific with substandard conditions of insufficient heat, hot water, non-working elevators, rodents, mold and asbestos to name a few. Thank You to our Mayor, housing officials, elected officials and the tenants and leaders on the ground. Better days are coming to our residents and families. 🙏
