Hi Dr. Philip, I'm Jewish. Many of my closest friends, family and community are Jewish. I love them all. I love Judaism. I host shabbat dinners, celebrate Jewish holidays, sing Jewish prayers, study Torah & Talmud, and love Jewish culture, history and expression. But I'm not a Zionist. Zionism was an ideology that said, let's create a Jewish state in a country that's 95%+ non-Jewish. So the Zionist movement set out to build a ‘Jewish state’ with a Jewish majority working at Jewish-only cooperatives living in Jewish-only colonies going to Jewish-only schools owned by a Jewish-only land authorities in a country of 95% percent Palestinian Arabs. What could possibly go wrong? That's why, when Zionists bought land in Palestine from the 1900s-1948, they uprooted the people living on the land because they weren't jewish. That's why, when Zionists created cooperatives in Palestine in the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s, they insisted on "Hebrew Labor", i.e., "Jews only" -- no Arabs allowed. That's why, in the 1930s, Zionists expelled Palestinian Arabs from working at Jewish companies and business. Jews only! jstor.org/stable/10.1525… That's why, in 1948, Zionists militias ethnically cleansed 750,000 Palestinians from their homes. archive.org/details/birtho… That's why, from 1949-1956, Israeli forces shot & killed b/w 2,700-5,000 overwhelmingly unarmed Palestinians trying to return to their homes after the war. Because they were the wrong religion/ethnicity (archive.org/details/israel… p.416). That's why Israel expelled another ~30-40,000 Palestinians from Israel from 1949-1959. palestinenexus.com/articles/israe… That's why Israel expelled another ~250,000 Palestinians from Gaza & the West Bank when it occupied those territories in 1967. That's why Israel continued to expel Palestinians from the occupied territories from 1968-1993, many hundreds of thousands of them. They had the wrong DNA. palestinenexus.com/articles/israe… The Zionists wanted to create a Jewish State with a Jewish majority in a land of overwhelmingly Palestinians. That's why Israel has become such a pariah state over the years, because it's insistence on jewish rule in a country with so many Palestinians. That's why Zionism has led Israel to become an apartheid state, according to every relevant human rights organization (@ICAHD in 2010, @UNESCWA in 2017, @YeshDin in 2020, @AdalahCenter in 2020, @btselem in 2021, @hrw in 2021, @fidh_en in 2021, @alhaq_org in 2022, @Addameer in 2022, @AlMezanCenter in 2022, @cacalqudsuni in 2022, @AdvocacyJlac in 2022, @miftahpal in 2022, @ICJ_org in 2022, @DAWNmenaorg in 2022, @amnesty in 2022), since it cannot grant the ~5-6 million occupied Palestinians Israeli citizenship. Israel chose apartheid and Jewish supremacy over democracy. Zionism also explains why Israel is now committing genocide ((according to @amnesty , @hrw , @btselem , @MSF , IAGS, @alhaq_org , @UNHumanRights , @UN_HRC , @pchrgaza , @AlMezanCenter , @WarOnWant , @PHRIsrael , @fidh_en , PHROC, @LemkinInstitute , @theCCR , @ECCHRBerlin , @unitedforrights @JURDIasso , @TheElders , @Oxfam) because, what a Zionist dream it would have been had Palestine been a land without any people on it! the ideology incentivized genocide. Judaism has existed for 3,300+ years. Zionism is a 150-yr-old anti-Jewish political ideology founded on the principles of forcible displacement & genocide. Jews and Judaism will last as long as their are humans on the planet. Zionism is imploding in real time. For a deeper dive on this history, I teach courses on the history of Zionism, Jewish anti-Zionism, Palestine and the Palestinians. You can access them here: palestinenexus.com/courses

A year has passed since the detention of my father, In this white coat, he walked alone amidst death, destruction, and in front of tanks—not because he was fearless, but because his oath and his humanity were greater than any fear. He refused to abandon the children and the wounded at Hospital , and for that, he was detained. This image is a testament to the courage of the man who was the last line of defense for life, and it is the very same scene that ended with his unjust arrest. A full year of injustice has passed. Today, we ask for nothing but his freedom. Please share his story to keep his voice alive.

So what's the plan here? We just sit and watch Israel starve Gaza to death with the support of our own governments? And then what? We just go along with our lives, knowing that that happened? That this is what we are as a society? That our civilization is comfortable allowing something like that to happen? And that our rulers could do the same thing to another inconvenient population at any time? We're just meant to be cool with that? And go on living like it's normal? I'm genuinely curious. How exactly is everyone planning to go about living their lives after that point? How does that work, exactly?

I thought I could no longer be shocked by the actions of the IDF in Gaza. But this report, from one of the most impartial and objective UN agencies, suggests there is simply no limit to the depths to which the IDF will sink. How can any sane person continue to support this?
World Food Programme@WFP

WFP Statement | #Gaza On the morning of 20 July, a 25 truck WFP convoy carrying vital food assistance crossed the Zikim border point destined for starving communities in northern Gaza. Shortly after passing the final checkpoint beyond the Zikim crossing point into Gaza, the convoy encountered large crowds of civilians anxiously waiting to access desperately needed food supplies. As the convoy approached, the surrounding crowd came under fire from Israeli tanks, snipers and other gunfire. We are deeply concerned and saddened by this tragic incident resulting in the loss of countless lives. Many more suffered life-threatening injuries. These people were simply trying to access food to feed themselves and their families on the brink of starvation. This terrible incident underscores the increasingly dangerous conditions under which humanitarian operations are forced to be conducted in Gaza. Today’s violent incident comes despite assurances from Israeli authorities that humanitarian operational conditions would improve; including that armed forces will not be present nor engage at any stage along humanitarian convoy routes. There should never, ever, be armed groups near or on our aid convoys, as reiterated on many occasions to all parties to the conflict. Shootings near humanitarian missions, convoys and food distributions must stop immediately. Any violence involving civilians seeking humanitarian aid is completely unacceptable. We stand firmly by our principles of operating with independence, impartiality and neutrality. It is one of the many reasons why communities trust us. The World Food Programme continues to call for the protection of all civilians and aid workers delivering life-saving assistance. WFP teams accompanying convoys should not have to risk their own lives in the effort to save others. Without these fundamental conditions in place, we cannot continue providing life-saving support across the Gaza strip. Gaza’s hunger crisis has reached new levels of desperation. People are dying from lack of humanitarian assistance. Malnutrition is surging with 90,000 women and children in urgent need of treatment. Nearly one person in three is not eating for days. Food aid is the only way for most people to access any food – as the cost of a one-kilogram bag of flour has surged to over USD100 in local markets. Only a massive scale-up in food aid distributions can stabilize this spiraling situation, calm anxieties and rebuild the trust within communities that more food is coming. An agreed ceasefire is long overdue. All hostages should be released, and humanitarians should be able to reach the civilian population in Gaza with critical food supplies in a consistent, predictable, orderly and safe manner -- wherever they are across the Gaza Strip. WFP is ready. We have food supplies nearby, experienced teams on the ground, and proven systems in place to respond at scale. We did it before and we can do it again. We urgently call on the international community and all parties to advocate for, and facilitate, the delivery of life-saving food aid to starving populations inside Gaza – safely, securely, wherever families are, and without obstruction.

There’s never been an easier solution to mass human suffering than the starvation in Gaza. UN aid and humanitarian workers are literally sitting at the border with the supplies and expertise to help. Israel refuses. It’s a choice, it’s deliberate, it’s GENOCIDE. OPEN THE GATES.

This is day **118** with no access for critical NRC life-saving aid to Gaza’s women and children. Every day we hope to get through with our relief trucks to a starving population. Every day the Israeli military blocks our relief - including over 3,000 tents to families that lost their homes in the indiscriminate bombardment. 206 trucks are ready in Egypt and Jordan. Our teams are ready. But we are denied entry. Meanwhile, Israel gives daily access for GHF that run distributions causing daily mass casualties – these daily, deadly Hunger Games must end. There is an alternative: We have the supplies. We have 80 years of expertise. Let us do our job.
