@CeliaRichards0n @BenGoldsmith Why did you make hundreds of NT rangers redundant last year, Celia? There’s a fundamental paradox between the Trust’s ‘campaign to reverse nature freefall’ and the actualite, where your rangers are culled meaning far fewer NT employees to steward the NT’s land for nature.

@Feargal_Sharkey Of course he did, and that is why he and Howard Boyd didn’t resign on principle after the EA budget was slashed, which they (and the Board) should have done. Too much moulah at stake. Now he’s topping it up with a sinecure at Welsh Water. Nice work if you can get it 😡

Through all of his 8 years running the Environment Agency Sir James Bevan was never actually employed by the EA, he was always on 'secondment' from the Foreign Office so that he could remain a member of the civil service pension scheme. Does that mean he got to keep his final salary pension bearing in mind that when he stepped down from the EA he was making £200,000 a year? Hell of a pension.

"Well I think it should be seriously considered". Secretary of State for the Environment Emma Reynolds speaking to Nick about the removal of Sir James Bevan's gong. So we agree, personally I would add the EA's chair to that, Emma Howard-Boyd CBE to that list in fact the whole board of both the EA and Ofwat should be under investigation for misconduct in public office. Their gross incompetence is now costing water bill payers hundreds of millions if not billions of pounds.

‘I think it should be considered…’ @NickFerrariLBC asks Labour's Emma Reynolds whether she thinks ex-Southern Water head Sir James Bevan should be stripped of his knighthood.

CABS officers in Northern Italy just helped authorities bust three poachers. >90 birds - including goldfinches and siskins - seized from illegal traffickers. With spring migration around the corner, protection camps are heading south in the next few weeks.

@CamillaTominey It’s only the sad and obsessive SW1 set who take any interest whatsoever in PMQs. So your point is confected.

There is nothing the public likes less than politicians who refuse to answer the question. #PMQs is supposed to be a Q and A session. Instead it has become a Q and A with a Q session.

Alexander Stubb exemplifies the know-all sneering disdain for democracy of the professional Eurocrat. British politicians, whether Remainers or Leavers, do not generally go around European countries mocking decisions taken by their electorates. I am sorry we never seem to be able to expect the same from our European friends.

@AnnabelDenham1 Why? What if the agreement improves trading with the EU by removing bureaucracy? Isn’t that a good thing? I k ow many business owners who’ve given up trading in Europe because of the hassle. Removing that hassle is sensible.
