Ich bin überwältigt wie hoch die Teilnehmerzahl bei der @LiegendDemo in #Kaiserslautern ist! Wenn die anderen Veranstaltungen ähnlich besucht sind, hat man hier nochmal die Bestätigung, dass ME/CFS keine seltene Erkrankung seien kann!

Twelve months ago, my VO₂max was 13.2 ml/kg/min. It has now increased to 23.0 ml/kg/min. On CPET, this corresponds to an improvement from 34% to 62% of predicted capacity, and from 60W to 120W in peak workload. I received daratumumab in March 2025, and it is encouraging to see objective improvement on repeat testing. I continue to live with #Sjogrens, dysautonomia, small fiber neuropathy, exercise intolerance, and PEM, but this result reflects meaningful physiological change. #mecfs

In March 2025 I completed one cycle of daratumumab—one injection a week—for #Sjogren’s with small-fiber neuropathy, dysautonomia, and severe exercise intolerance #MECFS. For the first few months after the last dose I honestly felt no change. But from August 2025 until today the improvement has been remarkable: I’m walking every day again and even doing resistance training. I paid for daratumumab out of pocket because it isn’t approved for my indication. I’d repeat the cycle to keep the momentum, but it’s simply too expensive to self-fund. It’s frustrating that in Belgium’s “social” healthcare system, some conditions are fully covered while others like mine are left behind.

Profound experiment done by goldstein and postdoc: shows LOWER norepi in spinal fluid in those with mecfs vs controls. 🔔happens via impaired energy in pons (low atp production), limiting locus coeruleus norepi output. And that decreases brain 🩸 flow! And causes symptoms.

Vor 3 Jahren hat @C_Scheibenbogen das Bundesverdienstkreuz erhalten. Auf einem ihrer Vorträge zu dieser Zeit hat sie die beiden Grafiken gezeigt. Es ist unstrittig das Forschung Zeit braucht, aber um Ergebnisse zu liefern, muss Forschung auch ausreichend langfristig finanziert sein.

In a 10-patient pilot, 6 of 10 ME/CFS patients (typically moderate severity, ~2,000 steps/day) received 4-7 Daratumumab injections. Responders saw ~50% IgG drop (particularly IgG4), jumped to ~10,000 steps/day, and had higher baseline NK cell counts.
