Not sure if everyone is fully aware of what is facing Andrew Tate right now. If the US extradite him, he will likely face trial in the UK, facing potentially 20+ years in jail if found guilty. Once he's served his time/been acquitted, he would be transferred to Romania and face similar sentencing there if found guilty. If not extradited, he will have to return to Romania to face trial there, facing potentially 20+ years in jail if found guilty. Once he's served his time there/been acquitted, he would be transferred to the UK to face his charges there. There is no scenario where he can realistically avoid trials in both the UK and Romania, unless he literally spends the rest of his life on the run. There's a strong possibility he could spend the rest of his life in jail.

@KEdge23 Well they didn’t lie. Starmer said he would not increase Income Tax, NI or VAT. And he didn’t.

Keir Starmer promised not to raise taxes on working people. He lied. Over and over again. Andy Burnham is going to raises taxes on working people and pensioners as well. Don’t trust Labour’s lies again. Don’t be fooled a second time.

If you abolish inheritance tax, the heirs will spend the money they inherit, drive the economy and pay VAT anyway. Who should spend the money? You or the government? This policy would be an immense boost to Reform. It removes the ‘We’re sorry for your loss, here’s our invoice” actions of the government.

@MrReeceballa It is a great idea. The rich dont pay anything as they stick it in trusts, pass to relatives etc. People are more likely to pay a 10% tax, than a ridiculous 40% tax. As for the so called poor, why shouldn't they pay if everyone else is?

@tesssummers98 @GBPolitcs The rich dont pay inheritance tax as they pay accountants and lawyers to structure their assets. So their inheritance tax rate is 0%. The middle get screwed by the 40% If you change the rate to 10% then less will avoid. Non doms also wont run away so easily. = more tax??

Around 6% of uk children attend private schools. Yet if one challenges or even just discusses the financial privilege required in order to attend such schools (especially VAT), the traction on social media is insane and that’s almost all in defence of it.

@returns_rich @ChainSchema @StefanLuciw @RupertLowe10 If you think changing laws and processes for an entire country’s legal system is cheaper than putting one criminal in jail for the rest of their life then I’m not sure we have much more to discuss.

It’s reported that at his new accommodation Rudakubana ‘will have access to a state of the art gym, an on-site cafe and shop and even the hospital’s resident hairdresser and dentist.’ Those held there are ‘allowed to watch TVs with Freeview packages plus vetted DvDs.’ The Sun reports inmates are ‘encouraged to spend time outdoors, including on escorted walks around the Berskhire facility’s lush central gardens.’ Rudakubana ‘will also be encouraged to join woodwork and pottery worskhops and join educational classes if safe to do so.’ There is an answer. A simpler, cheaper and much fairer answer. Hang him. A Restore Britain Government will give the British people a referendum on reintroducing the death penalty. That evil scumbag Rudakubana will be first up.

@ChainSchema @StefanLuciw @RupertLowe10 I’m sorry but that’s not true. A death trial is hideously expensive regardless of the age of the defendant, as are the lengthy appeals processes that are required when you are trying to put a citizen to death. He was born here, whether we like it or not.

@sctb9991 @StefanLuciw @RupertLowe10 Given his age, he will be in jail for many many years. If he gets out of jail then he will get a new identity, free house, money etc. There is a massive cost to this. If the criminal was 50+ years old then the economics may be different.

300 new civil “servants” will work from “number 10 North”. That’s 300 devolved jobs, doing 300 things that Westminster is no longer needing to do. Therefore there should be 300 redundancies at number 10. But we know that won’t happen.

Mainly because its just repeating stereotypes and prejudice. It costs £12k (including vat) to use a private school where I live. Its around £150k, over 12 years of schooling. To attend a good state school in the right catchment area costs much more than this. The best state schools in London come with catchment areas where you'd need £2m as a minimum for a home. But yeah, let's continue the absolute tripe that those spending £1k a month on private school are the privileged ones, not those who can afford £8k a month mortgages or dont even need one for a £2m house.

The wealth tax debate is monumentally insane. Those who promote it admit 80% of claimed receipts come from just 5,000 people. And 15% (£4bn) comes from just ten people. Vanishingly few ultra-mobile people have to change their tax residency for the whole thing to fall apart.

Clearly you haven’t been listening to your party, @Dan4Barnet . Your party claimed that there was no evidence that 20% VAT on private school fees would close schools down and only a tiny minority of children would migrate. One year on, 44k fewer kids & over 100 schools closed.
Dan Tomlinson MP@dantomlinsonmp

@afneil Its an odd claim that a reduction of 5% to the price of something won't affect demand for it. I don't think I've ever heard that claim be made before. Anyhow, thanks for engaging and promoting Andy Burnham's decision to remove VAT from electricity bills.

This pathetic little man is complaining about the Southport killer being sent to Broadmoor. Broadmoor is not just any hospital. It is a high-security hospital for dangerous mentally ill prisoners. Famous inmates include Ian Brady (Moors murderer), Peter Sutcliffe (Yorkshire Ripper), Ronnie Kray (Kray brothers) and Charles Bronson. So the Southport killer is not being transferred "out of prison". He is being transferred to a hospital that, famously, is a high-security prison. @ZiaYusufUK, you are ignorant and stupid.
Zia Yusuf@ZiaYusufUK

It is OUTRAGEOUS that the monstrous Southport killer is being transferred out of prison into a hospital. This savage murdered 3 little girls and tried to murder 8 more. He must not be considered a patient.  He is a prisoner. Whatever treatment is deemed necessary must never come at the expense of justice. This is a sickening disgrace. Britain’s justice system is utterly broken. It needs to be totally overhauled. That’s what Reform will do.
