@LabPigeon Yes I spent 10 years in the lab, the last 4 of which I went to law school as an evening student. Now I’ve been in private practice as food and drug attorney primarily doing drug development work for 1.5 yrs. Supportive institutions/mentors are key @asafkeller @UMMedNeuro @umdlaw

Congratulations @UMBVirusCore Dr. Ramesh Chandra for his official appointment to Assistant Professor today! Ramesh was the first lab Postdoc and he has been instrumental to the lab’s research accomplishments. He also Directs his own virus core with custom design available to all.

@neuro_melody I started a new job ~1 month ago (also outside of science for first time in 10+ yrs) colleagues kept saying things like “this is such a weird time to be starting...” The best I figured to respond was just point out that I’ve never known the job under any other circumstances.

@jordugh Oh goodness, one semester I had one exam, a final paper, and another exam on each of the first three days of the exam period. I was so over it by the morning of day three. That exam was not amongst my best but I still passed. You will too! Keep plugging!

I have been throughly impressed (and a little intimidated) by not only how talented my new colleagues were as lawyers but also how well they understood the science behind what they are working on and could jump to new topics with ease. This honor is well deserved by this crew.
