@MileHightheGrey I don't really care if low majs schedule hard/easy + I'd much prefer Miami>Auburn, but debate isn't about "just go undefeated", it's "which schedule type, very hard or very easy, is best for getting an undeserved tourny bid as a 90th+ ranked tm" And to that, the answer is clear

@MileHightheGrey This is a terrible take about a terrible take Most mid/low majors have zero shot at getting an at large, period Scheduling this way gave a super mid team a fraction more of a shot than they would have had of a at-large otherwise, which would have been 0.0

@jamfan40 Teams play easy schedules all the time. They NEVER go undefeated. NEVER. Because it's fucking HARD. The idea that now a rash of mid-majors are going to try to schedule their way into undefeated seasons, so they can walk a tightrope and barely make it to a play-in game, is absurd.

@MikeMonaco_ This game will be the 1st one all season long actually playing a real (top 50-ish) team. 2nd if you count KenPom #64 Akron. I think the first four is the perfect spot for them. Go 1-0 against legitimate teams all year (#42 SMU) and get into the round of 64. Seems totally fair.

@SabreGolf Could also be a just simple splash page that lists your picks in the same format as the email, but the confirmation page / email from prev years was useful for copy/pasting into excel to confirm I actually entered stuff as intended. Def have made entry errors in the past.

@SabreGolf Love the new website - well done. One more feature add I'll ask for: A button to send a summary email of my own picks. It's not 100% clear if you have unsaved picks, and it'd be nice to get that "your picks have locked" email *before* picks actually lock, to check your work.

@SabreGolf @Stuckey2 Hey, just FYI, Day 2 actually has 5 gms - the stupid/strange Horizon has 1 of their 5 quarterfinal (?) games tmrw, but it's not reflected on the pick page Also, if we reply to the email blast from the site saying "picks are due", does that get to you? Or is this the easier way?

A great point from @TomFornelli… The only people mad about Tulane and JMU in the playoff are talking heads and Notre Dame fans. Haven’t met a single human IRL who is like “wow, sucks JMU is in, huh?” Further reminder that CFB media is exceptionally out of touch.

breaking down notre dame vs. miami further: résumé metrics strength of record: ND 13th, MIA 14th most deserving: ND 13th, MIA 12th power ratings SP+: ND 5th, MIA 9th kford: ND 3rd, MIA 7th off of that it doesn't seem like you can confidently say one team is better than the other in terms of résumé or rating. so should head-to-head be the tiebreaker between them?

Amazing. I am not arguing Vanderbilt's ranking. However ... The fact Vanderbilt, per selection committee comments, did not get much credit for beating rival Tennessee (9-3) on the road because they won by so much the committee dropped the Vols out of the rankings, but ... Alabama moved up for beating rival unranked Auburn (5-7) on the road because it was a close game and made a "gutsy" call on a late touchdown should go down in selection committee Hall of Fame reasoning.

I will say this: if theres a team people should be fighting over its Notre Dame. They never beat anyone, play a soft schedule, and dont play in a conference. But because they are the darling of the 50 and over crowd their resume never seems to matter.

I'm sorry but this is the most nonsensical popularly shared argument re: game management. Yes.. if you don't get the 2PC you are fucked. You are 99% to lose the game if you don't get it *either way* Who gives a shit about who has the momentum in the intervening 3 minutes?

@JakobSanderson No Thats wrong. You take the momentum if you fail. Also you take of the pressure of your Opponent if you fail. It is the opposite of smart to go for 2 down 9.
