@olamide_adee All those talking about morals and freedom of choice, what if a person’s political choice is a chokehold on my entire existence, am I not required to resort to unconventional means to free myself from the vicious hold on my neck, where common sense appeal fails?

@Samfizsy @slickyace @olamide_adee What if a person’s political choice is like a chokehold on my entire existence, and fails to see that he/she is strangulating me, am I not supposed to do “everything necessary” to free myself from the vicious grip when appeal and common sense reasoning fails to work?

@slickyace @olamide_adee Funny enough I’d never voted APC in an election but going as far as punishing people for their political choices is the same as Boko haram seeking out Christians for murder. We are not meant to all vote for one party deal with defeat

@maefzn @DARQK568212 @Dannymasterp @BwalaDaniel I didn’t find it hilarious. It was utterly embarrassing. Each time those young fair skinned individuals sitting in the audience laughed at his denial, my blood coiled. I couldn’t sleep properly. It is a shame now to claim to be a Nigerian after this blatant denials on live tv

PRESS STATEMENT In the last 24 hours, social media has exploded over my interview with Mehdi Hassan, albeit with varied opinions. Let me set the record straight. When I signed on to the privileged job granted to me by Mr. President, I was well aware of its implications. Selling ice cream, looking fine, and seeking the praises of men were never part of it. Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors. But the task of promoting and defending the President and his administration is what I do with ease and joy. I am prepared to appear before any interviewer, anywhere in the world, any day and at any time, to defend this government and its policies. I have never, and will never, subscribe to ducking or dodging interviews on matters that concern promoting and defending the administration I was appointed to serve. It is the least of what is required of me. Head to Head contacted me requesting an interview, stating that they wanted to challenge our government on security, the economy, and corruption. Nowhere in our almost six months of communication did they mention that they were going to challenge my past. If that had been their plan, ethically and professionally, they were supposed to inform me so I could prepare my response. But that’s okay, ethically, that is on them, not on me. I refused to swallow the pill of Mehdi’s “opposition research-style journalism,” and even today, if you carefully compare what he read as quotes from organisations and groups, you will see that many were inaccurate and some were outright fake news. But I will leave that for another day. As for what I said about President Tinubu in the past, I am glad those were things I said when I was in the opposition saddle with such zeal. It is all politics. Half of Donald Trump’s cabinet is made up of people who once spoke against him, and quite a number of people in our own cabinet also spoke against President Tinubu in the past. Those things do not bother him if you care to know. The majority of the naysayers are members of the opposition and their sympathisers. It does not bother me one bit. Their temporary excitement over the interview has not lasted and will not last, because it does not take away their obvious problem of lack of vision, mission in conducting and managing a political party; yet they seek to manage Nigeria. Clearly they have no path to victory and no alternative policies or program for the Nigerian people. And if they say they do, they can as well go to head to head and be interrogated on that; as the saying in Hausa goes “Ga fili Ga doki” I conclude by thanking the many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who sent in their commendations over my brave defence of our government in an interview where the anchor would hardly let you answer a question unless it suited his narrative. I still have admiration and respect for Mehdi Hassan as arguably the best debater on the planet. I look forward to part two of the Head to Head interview, and I am glad that by then questions about my past will no longer be news so that we can focus on our administration’s policies, programs and what we have achieved so far. Stay tuned. – D.H Bwala Special Adviser to President on Media and Policy Communication (State House) Saturday March 7, 2026

Mr Daniel, You've done very well in defending the country and defending this current administration at all points in every occasion. You've shown to we Nigerians that you remain one of the most competent person to handle the current position you're heading currently as our President spokesperson. Apart from the interview with Mehdi which he intentionally wanted to use your past speeches against you after seeing your well thought explanation of all the questions he Asked you. You have represented our country Nigeria and represented this current Government in so many occasions and so many media Blogs to which we've seen your capacity and patriotic energy in defending the course of our Nation Nigeria both in local media blogs and international media blogs.

@sowore @MBuhari I can’t agree more with you @sowore. Buhari was a disaster that should never have happened. One of Nigeria’s biggest disaster. Some people can chose to adore and worship him. Truth remains he will be remembered as one who had nothing to offer Nigeria except bigotry.

It is an insult to Nigerians that at a time when people are still reeling from the devastation of Muhammadu @MBuhari’s disastrous reign, marked by mass killings, egregious violation of human rights, bigotry, corruption, and staggering incompetence, anyone would choose to add insult to injury by attempting to celebrate him. Nigerians who endured the suffering inflicted by his administration know the depth of the damage. To glorify that legacy now is not just insensitive; it is an affront to a nation still struggling, and in many ways unable, to recover.

@SamuelOmogor @PastorMarvy @revi_ofthehills I came here to repeat what you said, only to see you echo exactly my thoughts, I won’t say more. That terrorist wearing the uniform of an ACP & the fact we are a country that negotiates with known terrorists, give terrorists 20years jail term actually makes us a disgraced country

But it is Ramaphosa you used as example. S Africans are defending him because they know him. They know he is of Venda tribe, they know he was born and raised in Soweto. He didn't make his government a Venda or Soweto affair. His Venda people didn't see him as 'Awa lo Kan.' Ramaphosa is not asking a foreign country not to release his records. Now, on calling your country a disgraced country and you asking people to defend the country, a terrorist killed an Assistant Commissioner of Police, took his uniform and wore it to a peace meeting with government where you have army, Police, DSS and all security agencies present. The uniform still have the name of the ACP boldly written on it. The meeting finished and he left. Please what is your definition of the word 'DISGRACED?' Why not go tell the family of that ACP to come defend anything? You all know you don't give a damn about the country. That is why you see black and call it white

Dear President Tinubu, I bring this humble request on behalf of millions of Nigerian football lovers. As we all know, Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid fans make up roughly 60–75% of Nigeria’s football-loving population. Sir, we would be absolutely delighted if you could bring Ronaldo and the Portugal national team to play at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. This single gesture would electrify the country, unite supporters across regions and strengthen the excitement ahead of the 2027 general election. 🐐

It is all over the news that Angola paid €12 million to bring Messi and his Argentina national team to Africa for a friendly match. Out of curiosity, I decided to browse through the pages of several Angolan influencers, expecting to see them cursing their country for what many would easily call an obvious case of misplaced priority. To my surprise, even though a good number of them openly disagree with their government on many issues, it was still hard to find a single person insulting the country over the government’s decision to pay millions of dollars just to bring Argentina to play in Angola. I will pray to see when Nigerians will disgrace with the government’s actions or policies and still keep the sense of national pride intact, regardless of the political debate.

Wow. Ayo, @ayomairoese, you are a clear example of how human beings can either forget too easily or choose to be deliberately manipulative for convenience. It is deeply disappointing and frankly alarming when such amnesia comes from someone in journalism, a profession built on truth, memory and responsibility. How can anyone especially a journalist go on live broadcast and boldly say that President Buhari “didn’t care” or “did nothing” to push back on terrorism in this country? Your statement is just a betrayal of the truth and of the memory of millions of Nigerians who lived through those dark years before he took over in 2015. Let me take you on a brief journey back to our shared reality before the last administration came into office. In 2015, 17 out of 27 local government areas in Borno State were completely under Boko Haram’s control as there was no government presence whatsoever. In Borno, and partially in Yobe and Adamawa states during that period, no schools, no hospitals, no markets, no airport (Borno), no electricity, no mobile networks, and no public life. Even traditional rulers had fled their palaces as their whole communities were living under siege. Those days entire these three states were under a 6 p.m. to dawn curfew and even the state governors couldn’t move freely during the curfew. Now, let’s talk about what happened after Buhari took office. Within his first two years, those 17 local governments were liberated, government presence was restored and displaced communities began returning home. Markets reopened, airports resumed operations and those traditional rulers returned to their palaces. And it wasn’t just in the northeast. In other northern states, including my state, Kano, we couldn’t go to schools, markets, mosques, churches, stadiums or any such places without being thoroughly searched. Every public place carried an atmosphere of fear. Boko Haram attacks were daily realities that haunted every Nigerian. So when you sit there today, in a peaceful studio, confidently saying Buhari “did nothing,” you’re doing so precisely because his administration did the work that made it possible for you to feel safe enough to say it. Before President Buhari, even Abuja was practically on lockdown because major roads leading to critical or government facilities were barricaded and fear ruled the streets. Terrorists had attacked the UN building, Police Headquarters, Banex Plaza, Nyanya motor park and even targeted major media houses. By the end of Buhari’s first term in 2019, all those roadblocks in Abuja and elsewhere had been removed and Abuja had regained its normal life, something no one could imagine just a few years earlier. These are not tales from imagination, they are documented facts, recorded by the same media houses that now seem to have selective amnesia. It is indeed astonishing how quickly people can forget when it suits their narrative. So, Ayo, before you go on air next time to try to rewrite history, remember this, truth is not something you bend to fit a headline. Facts are stubborn. And in this case, the evidence of what President Buhari did to reclaim Nigeria from the grip of terror is not only undeniable, it is written in the blood, sweat and resilience of millions of Nigerians who lived through it. Two short years of revisionism can never erase that reality.
