@ClarkeMicah @ArthurMuir1901 One reason the justice system should be skewed towards acquittal is that, while being imprisoned for a crime you did commit is highly annoying, being imprisoned for something you did not do is likely to be mentally far more punishing.

Today, 84-year-old Yevgeny Bondar, a member of the Jewish community in Kherson, died after suffering serious injuries from Russian shelling of Kherson a few days ago. Shrapnel from Russian ammunition hit his liver and wounded his arm, requiring amputation. Doctors fought for Yevgeny's life, but were unable to save him. This is the kind of "denazification" that the Russian army has been carrying out for almost four years in a row on the territory of Ukraine, killing not only Ukrainians, but also other nationalities who simply live here peacefully. In the photo, Yevgeny Bonder is wearing a beige raincoat. He survived World War II and Hitler's Nazis, who deliberately sought out and killed Jews... but he did not survive the Russian "liberators"...
