22 year old Danozjna Shalita allegedly left her three kids home alone while she went out running the streets in Pennsylvania. Police say she barricaded the children inside a bedroom before leaving, pushing a couch in front of the door and blocking the stairs with a mattress. Inside were her 5 year old son, 3 year old daughter, and 5 month old baby girl. While she was gone, the apartment caught fire. According to investigators, the landlord called to tell her the apartment was burning, but she allegedly hung up and didn’t show up until about 20 minutes later. She initially told police she had been at Walmart, but detectives checked surveillance footage at two different Walmart locations and say she was never there. Phone records allegedly showed she had been talking to her boyfriend in jail and arranging a drug deal for him. All three children died in the fire. Danozjna was arrested and charged with third-degree murder, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, and reckless endangerment.
