Not that Canadians haven't been fundamentally anti-indigenous this whole time (it's literally foundational to being a Canadian) but there is an increase in anti-indigenous sentiment right now. Oppose it every chance you get. Never give them an inch.

This isn't a new tactic. A court said Ford couldn't pass voter suppression and political fundraising legislation, so he used the notwithstanding clause to force it through. Ford has since won two more majorities thanks to that legislation and low turnout. Bet you had no idea.

Ford was told he couldn’t conduct government business on his personal phone. He did it anyways. A court ordered he release his cell phone records. He refused. Today, the Ontario Government will vote to allow Ford to delete those records, retroactively. This is authoritarian.
