If Canada wants to be an energy superpower, we need to be trading our energy and natural resources with one of the world’s largest energy markets: India. That’s why, this week, I’m in India for trip of firsts: Canada’s first federal ministerial presence at India Energy Week and the first Canada–India energy dialogue in eight years 🇨🇦🇮🇳 As major projects are being built at home, we’re building relationships abroad that will allow us to sell our products worldwide and carve out a new path for a stronger, more sovereign Canada.

Deux ententes majeures sont conclues pour accélérer la construction de logements et d’infrastructures partout au Québec, en créant les conditions nécessaires pour soutenir la croissance durable des communautés québécoises. Grâce à près d’un milliard de dollars consacré aux infrastructures liées au logement, les municipalités pourront moderniser et développer des infrastructures essentielles comme l’eau potable et les eaux usées, indispensables à la réalisation de nouveaux projets d’habitation. Jumelée à la toute première entente conclue par Maisons Canada avec une province, cette démarche se traduira par plus de logements abordables pour répondre aux besoins sur le terrain. C’est exactement ce qui devient possible lorsque les trois ordres de gouvernement sont alignés et déterminés à livrer des résultats durables.

Critical minerals are the pillars of our economy and national security in the 21st-century. That’s why we’re using the Defence Production Act to designate them as essential to Canada’s national defence and interests. This designation allows Canada to move faster to secure supply chains, build strategic stockpiles, and strengthen our economic and defence resilience for decades to come. This is how we lead, how we support industry, and how we build a more sovereign and resilient Canada in an increasingly volatile world.

Today, the Prime Minister announced the first series of projects being referred to the Major Projects office, including the Contrecoeur Container Terminal.   By better connecting our economy, allowing us to access new markets, and creating high-paying jobs, we are building a stronger Canada for generations to come.

The senseless attack on a Jewish woman in an Ottawa grocery store this week is deeply disturbing. My thoughts are with her, her family, and Ottawa’s Jewish community, and my support is with law enforcement as they work to swiftly bring the perpetrator to justice.   To Canada’s Jewish community: you are not alone. We stand with you against hate and threats to your safety, and we will act to confront antisemitism wherever it appears.

In Northern Quebec, critical minerals and forestry aren’t just economic drivers — they’re lifelines. Over the past two days, my Parliamentary Secretary @ClaudeGuay travelled to meet with Indigenous leaders, business leaders, and resource workers to spotlight how responsible development in Quebec can create jobs and power a clean future. Our new economy is being built in places like Chibougamau, Lebel-sur-Quévillon and Val-d’Or -- and we’re making sure that future is prosperous, sustainable and shared. 👏 Merci, Claude, for your leadership and commitment.

This morning, I was honoured to have my friend and colleague @Sflecce introduce me at the @TorontoRBOT, and to sit down with him after to talk all things energy and mining in Ontario. Minister Lecce said it best: now is the time to work across party lines, provincial boundaries, and siloed lanes to get things done -- things that make this province and this country an economic, energy, and resource superpower. After all -- we are all on #TeamCanada 🇨🇦

Today, I was honoured to speak at the Toronto Region Board of Trade (@TorontoRBOT) to deliver a clear message: we’re ready to be an energy superpower in Ontario and beyond. Thank you to my Toronto Liberal Caucus colleagues for being here and standing strong for our city and our province in Ottawa. Right now, Ontarians can’t afford to sit still. Our auto workers, steel and aluminum industries, and families need us to work together, across governments, to win this trade war. Ontario, we see the challenge. We see the opportunity.
