Allowing individuals with less training than a medical student to see patients independently should never have been implemented as a model of care in GP.
Frankly the scope of practice is what is necessary and safe for patients.
There is a great route to practice medicine in GP- a medical degree and 5-10 years of medical training as a post graduate.

This scope of practice document is extremely restrictive for PAs & is allowing them to do what a healthcare assistant does. It poses a huge issue for PCNs & practices who have a PA in post & have had for 5 years. The @rcgp are late & haven’t thought about consequences to practice

Will you be calling patients back to be seen by a proper specialist with the necessary medical training/ expertise ?
Many of the patients left the consultation believing they saw a cancer or heart specialist, rather than someone with no medical training and a two years masters.
I believe you owe an apology to patients for misleading them, and from a patient safety perspective a proper medical review by someone qualified to do so.

It's very clear that workforce planning in the UK is to replace doctors and nurses with poorly trained "associates" to save money in the long term, even though they lack the training to be able to practice medicine/nursing.

I have been subjected to immense stress and threats to my livelihood due to vexatious police & GMC referrals by Mr Nash, the leader of a PA union-in-waiting, all of which have thankfully been dismissed. He has faced no consequences, leaving me anxious about what he might do next.
