This is my favorite Marathon cope of all. Out of all the copes. Meanwhile people poured out of the Server Slam. "But THAT was because they saw it, loved it, and were going to buy the game when it released." Then way less people showed up on day one. "But that was because it launched on a Thursday and people work, but Friday will be lit, fam!" Then Friday was far less than Thursday. "But that was because people go out on Fridays." Then Saturday was lower than Friday. "But THAT is because it's the weekend!" Then every day lost players all week. "But THAT was because it's totally normal and it's the week and people work!" Now Marathon has lost 20% of its player base in its second weekend. "But THAT is because of haters posting Steam charts!" Or maybe, just maybe... Marathon is dying because people don't like it. It's ugly, its characters are hideous. it's got bland gun play, it's SLOW unless you pick a character that can actually MOVE sometimes, its world is EMPTY, the UI is an eyesore... IT'S NOT A GOOD GAME.

Death Stranding 2 already proved that you don't need generative AI to make extremely realistic faces in video-games This running smoothly on a PS5 console is showing how much progress game graphics have made over the years. Most importantly, this doesn't look uncanny

The guy blocked me like a hysterical toddler, but I would like to point out that this is true for most people. But I am not most people. I am a professional playtest observer and I can tell more from watching for fifteen minutes than most people can from a four hour play session.

I do not "get" the new Marathon game. At all. I watched some streams and was totally baffled. BUT... it did make me nostalgic so I downloaded the FIRST Marathon game and was not prepared for the total muscle memory overload. It was like the last 30 years compressed into a single frame and I was back in the college computer lab again. I played that game so much, you guys. Anyway, Marathon 1 has the WORST intro level of any game I have ever played. It is purposely designed to make you quit in angry confusion. Maybe that is why the new one is a spiritual successor?

I'm not really sure why Pearl Abyss is doing this? This is a red flag. And after Cyberpunk people will have pause, for good reason. Its already been said no console codes are being given out for reviews (at least pre-launch), besides the PS5 Pro one that DF tested.

@khaliltooshort But you literally CANNOT give feedback on a game you haven’t played. You can criticize the art/appearance of it. But a game is much more than that. It’s the sum of its parts.

I absolutely HATE this mentality. It doesn’t matter if someone has played, watched, or listened about something. If they do not like it and want to voice that, then they have every right to do so How about people stop being baby back bitches and take some feedback regardless if it’s positive or negative. As I said remakes are supposed to be a more improved version of the original game built from the ground up with modern tech, expand the game, and add quality of life mechanics. They aren't supposed to change the game into something completely different. That's what a reimagine does, not a remake.

@HoegLaw I haven’t seen anyone “defending” it. Just people overhyping it. I also haven’t seen anyone attacking it. I think it’s pretty clear what we’re getting: beautiful open world with possibly very fun combat and an absolutely boring story/characters.

I don’t know why this game in particular is engendering this level of defense, but it always sounds like “Just eat your slop, they made so much of it” to me.

The fact that the devs wont show Base PS5 and Series S/X footage of this game gives me serious red flags.
