@cracklyn_ I'd say that if you feel good about your relationship and like they can speak to your skills it's totally fine! It's on them to say no they feel like they're a bad fit.

@IBchemmilam It's all so hard to line up what I learned about the ngss in grad school with the actual implementable resources I see for the classroom! I totally feel this! Out of curiosity, have you looked at the released open sci Ed units? I like what I see, but we'll see how fall goes!

Part of "aligning" to NGSS must include quality. It's frustrating to see such minimal output of good resources with no discussion of revisions. Meanwhile there's this hyperfocus on alignment when the intent of NGSS was for better science teaching.

.@kareem_carr, with respect: the entire point of the meme is the MEDIA’s highly selective and disproportionate emphasis in -reporting- on crime based on specific attributes of perpetrator and victim. That this has been happening is pretty undeniably true. Now, one can claim that this is done for good reason, but some of us think it’s harmful, takes us further away from an honest understanding of reality, and makes race relations even worse.

this is the natural history building, home to the geology department. there’s a fossil exhibit on the fourth floor. it’s a really great place for a first date if you aren’t looking for a second. a lot of people take it for granite. *pause for laughs* i’m kidding this place rocks

@teachbk I always find it ironic in education that there's a huge push to not work outside contract hours, but then also to give lots of homework in the name of rigor, I don't want to work after 3:16, so why would I make my kids?

I can’t take my kids out today because they have too much homework. This is a regular occurrence on weekends. Nights are also booked around assignments. Homework is a thief of family time.
