My biggest combine winners from today’s scrimmages: • Ryan Conwell. Thought he was phenomenal at getting to his spots, making some tough shots and generating pace. Microwave type of scorer with 2nd round value. • Matt Able. He is physically gifted for his age, can take contact and score plus showed off his range and was solid on defense. I love this kid’s upside whether he goes to UNC or stays in draft. If he’s with Michael Malone, oh man. Tar Heels cashing IN! • Ja’Kobi Gillespie. Showed his second round value with quality shot technique and making the defense move. He really helped himself these last two days. Has improved his creation skills. • Dillon Mitchell. The Swiss Army Knife out of St. John’s is a specimen athletically. Doesn’t need the ball to impact the game. Long defender, high level rebounder and had a variety of dunks today. There’s a place for him on a roster. • Aaron Nkrumah. From D3 Worcester State to Tennessee State to the G League Combine to the Draft Combine. Solid shot form, very active hands defensively, disruptive too and at 6-6, good enough size that gives him second round value. • Nick Boyd. He plays with swagger and it led to results in scrimmages. Boyd has developed a wide array of skills on offense that’s allowed him to become a really crafty scorer. Plucky on D today as well. • Tarris Reed. The UConn product has really shown his physicality and improvement around the rim this week. Think he could be a first round pick. Controlled the paint for a wide portion of his game. • Otega Oweh. The Kentucky product can fill it up with a wide array of skills and showed things that have to intrigue front offices for a second round pick.
