@rhettlashlee @CoachCarswell @MarkieP_ @ChadSlade62 Coach, is the kickout a read for the guard? If he sees the end fly upfield is he bypassing him because he knows the QB is keeping? Or is this more of a window dressing play for the defense to give the QB a better look to keep it?

@LanceZierlein Even in HS I feel like I couldn't see the defense and call plays effectively from the field. You lose the direct comms with lineman and QB from the box, but the booth allows you to focus strictly on playcalling

As somebody who never coached and does all of my analysis with hours and hours of tape, how do you coaches see as much as you see from Field level? I'm legitimately stunned and impressed when I hear coaches talk about what they are seeing from Field level. If I wear a play-caller, there's no way I would be on ground floor.

@1PantherPlace If your analytics team determines you have a greater than 50% chance of a two-point conversion down two touchdown then it makes sense

@FB_FilmAnalysis 1:07 is split zone though. Teams are too good at playing lag technique and controlling the C gap nowadays for wide zone to be their bread and butter. Same reason why McVay now is a big duo run guy.

Loved how Shanahan went from a zone to gap scheme but told a story with their formations and motion rather than just bang their heads against a wall

@kurt13warner @th49ers Curl flat go was my offense’s #1 third down call a couple years ago. Old school concepts are tried and true.

@th49ers I don’t like mirrored routes in both sides, but a 3 man curl-flat-pop for sure - love it!

I don’t know how to do a study on it but the “Curl-Flat” concept (one of my favs) has to be the highest % play in the NFL even as simple as it is! I have always felt teams should carry it numerous ways every week… sometimes the best plays are the oldest & simplest concepts, the ones u ran in HS & you don’t have to always try and create the next “great” concept!

@Coach_DDavidson Power, counter & buck sweep. With options, bash, QB runs, 2nd and 3rd level RPOs and unbalanced formations, you can run an entire offense from those three plays alone.

@Coach_T_AZ @coachkou Yeah that double is the frontside of duo - you're not gonna be able to get a double if there's any linebacker that declares immediately or mugs the line of scrimmage. If you wanna learn more, check out Paul Alexander's Coachtube clinic on Duo. It's awesome.

@Coach_Litton @coachkou Hmm I am only seeing one double here on the back side. I guess it is moving pretty fast so it might be hard to tell them apart at game speed, it just always seems very arbitrary lol

Duo insert is something we are seeing more of. Mcvay in the NFL, Fisch (below) and others.

@Coach_T_AZ @coachkou The line is coached to get vertical double teams and get off the double only when the linebacker triggers. Running back is reading the playside linebacker and do not wind back ever. Many zone teams read the down defenders inside out.
