What Elon has offered to cover… ~65,000 TSA Employees. Average weekly gross pay is ~$1,000 per employee. Add in benefits and total taxpayer cost is ~$155 million per week. I never want to hear another Leftist talk about Elon’s money and what he should do with it ever again.

Much of the anger and frustration over the creation of an income tax in Washington state can be explained as the breaking of a century-long social contract that many generations of Washingtonians came to trust and expect. This social contract was so foundational that it was enshrined in our state's constitution - namely that taxation needs to be uniform and the state cannot target any group for higher rates of taxation. This is not to say that social contracts cannot be changed, but there is a legal and proper mechanism for doing that: amend the state's constitution. The Democrats did not choose that path because it is a very high bar to overcome (rightly so) and every time they had attempted this in the past, the people of Washington voted it down. Instead, the Democrat legislature chose the path of double-dealing and disingenuousness. This occurred in a series of steps: 1. Pack the Supreme Court with judges who would rubber stamp unconstitutional taxes. 2. Pass an unconstitutional capital gains tax but claim that, unlike any other state or at the Federal level, such a tax is an "excise tax" rather than a tax on income, giving the Supreme Court the excuse it needed to rubber stamp this wolf in sheep's clothing. 3. The Supreme Court then upholds this tax, clearly violating the Constitution and opening the door for a full income tax. 4. Create an fully fledged income tax (with all the bureaucracy required to administer it) but cynically label it a "millionaire's tax" even though they rejected every provision to guarantee it would only apply to millionaires. 5. Call the passage of this tax a state emergency, even though it only becomes effective two years from now. What kind of "emergency" allows you to wait 2 years? Answer: by classifying its passage an emergency, the Democrats purposefully prevented the possibility of a referendum of the people to reject the tax (as Washingtonians had done for a century). This get-what-you-want-no-matter-the-cost strategy is a deeply dishonest means of undermining the democratic process. 6. The Governor claims this tax makes life more "affordable" for Washingtonians but its passage provides almost no meaningful tax relief for the legion of other taxes that have ballooned under the Democrats (gas tax, sales tax, b&o tax etc). They did provide some sales tax relief on shampoo and hygiene products though. 🙄 So much has been lost to the whims of our politically extreme legislature in the last four years, but perhaps nothing so significant and painful as Washington's century-long social contract.

🚨 BREAKING: Sen. John Kennedy is now moving to put the SAVE America Act as RECONCILIATION, which only needs 50+1 votes YES! DO IT! 🔥 "We HAVEN'T TRIED." "If this bill is as IMPORTANT as everybody says — and I think it is — we're talking about the trust of the American people in our elections...we should try it through reconciliation." "We have yet to try crafting a SAVE Act that passes [reconciliation]!" All we need is 50 plus the VP if this gets done.

My mom just called me from Iran through her landline. I haven’t spoken to her since February. She said that Israel and the US are bombing the regime nonstop. They taped all the windows because the building shakes constantly. I asked if any civilians are getting hurt, and she replied “No, No, No. No normal civilians are getting hurt” Everyone is hanging in there and counting the days for this regime to end and for the return of the Shah. 🇮🇷

Breaking the filibuster would set a precedent that could be abused. But if we look at what’s at stake, this is the time it would make the most sense. There is nothing more important than ensuring secure elections. Without that, everything downstream is polluted anyway.

Gov. Ferguson says opponents arguments against his blatantly unconstitutional income tax are weak, and there’s a lot of fear mongering about what the tax will do in the future. First, our arguments that it’s unconstitutional, takes away citizens right to vote against it in the ballot, is structurally unsound, and provides very little regressive tax relief are not weak arguments. Only a weak Governor denies the people a chance at referendum, and fails at his duty to follow the state constitution while intentionally torching his own economy. Let’s fact check some GOP “fears”: Republicans argued for years that passing a capital gains income tax would pave the way for a state income tax. We were right. We said the estate tax increases would cause capital flight, we were right. (And they admitted it this year) We said that Democrats’ wouldn’t reduce regressive taxes with new wealth taxes, not only were we right, but Democrats said hold my beer and raised the largest regressive tax increases in state history, including the most regressive of them all. We said the promises to fund things people like with taxes like capital gains would be broken, and the Governors own budget proposed to raid the education account capital gains funded to fill budget gaps. We were right. We said these new taxes wouldn’t fix our budget deficits, we were right again, and the state continues to run multibillion dollar deficits. We said businesses would flee, we were right and they are as we speak. We said the wealthy would re-domicile, we were right, and they are. We warned that Democrats approving an initiative to ban income taxes was just so they could easily reverse it, we were right. We warned that a carbon tax (the most regressive tax) would not be used to help the environment but would instead crush gas prices and raise costs while feeding cronyism, we were right. We were right then, and we are right now. You don’t even have to be a Republican at this point to realize we are half way down the slippery slope. The income tax alone doesn’t kill us, it’s the straw that broke the camels back; it’s a tax on success, a hallmark of greed and corruption, and will do more harm to lower income people that soon we will all realize.

Its simple for me; 1. Before Adam Fortney was Sheriff, crime was going up in my neighborhood. 2. After he became Sheriff, crime actually dropped here during the pandemic. 3. After he wasn't Sheriff, crime has gone back up to pre Fortney levels.
