There was a time as recent as 10-15 years ago where I would’ve given anything for Auburn to win the NIT. the fact that winning it now seems like a disappointment is almost surreal.

Rick Barnes had a reputation at Texas as a good coach who routinely underachieved in the postseason—a choker.
But what he’s done at Tennessee has been remarkable. I think he’s often overachieved in the postseason and I’m always impressed with their physicality and toughness.

criticizing one of the greatest coaches in basketball history (the 🐐 in my book) for coaching a player hard is why coaching has gotten harder. people like this are too soft for competitive sports.

@bballbreakdown In this situation, no. this is why you sign up to play for a Rick Pitino or a Tom Izzo. and this is why they have sustained success. they demand toughness, they coach their players hard, and they get everything from their players in return.
