We are very sad to learn that Sir Michael Parkinson has passed away aged 88. He was not only an outstanding journalist and broadcaster but was also a former Captain in the Royal Army Pay Corps and saw active service in Egypt during the Suez Crisis. Rest in peace, Sir Michael.

In the context of other prison inspections recently this is quite remarkable. It shows what works and why prisons need investment. Sadly there is no political will to reform prisons to mirror the Grendon model.

The Block has provided a fully managed, fully furnished single occupancy bedsit flat to a veteran who has just spent 58 days in a hostel provided to him by sefton council. Needless to say he is delighted with the support received by the Block following his Op Fortitude refferal.

Very kind words from @StuartBroad8 when I “moved on”. I’m in such a great career space and I would like to think we both “left nothing out there”. My reply then stands now, always grateful for the time and cooperation, meant so much and does to this day.
