Yesterday was a special day Amidst all the troubling things happening in the world, >250 emerging managers and LPs came together for the 2nd annual Emerging Manager Circle Summit. Those who know me best know that this community means a lot to me. Starting @EqualVentures was one of the most trialing endeavors of my life and our firm wouldn’t be possible without the support of countless GPs and LPs who helped along the way. These folks were more than advisors - they were confidants, supporters and shoulders to cry on (even if it was virtually over zoom). Yesterday, we were able to bring many of these individuals under the same roof as we continue to learn from, evolve with and grow together. I was fortunate to share the stage with so many individuals that I admire so deeply, including @eriktorenberg @Beezer232 @lessin @mamoonha @hayleybay @themollette @joshk @bryce @weschan @zachweinberg JoAnn Price Joelle Kayden @SaraZulkosky and @infoarbitrage. Our other sessions featured incredible investors like @km @MarHershenson @nihalmehta @alexavontobel @thedatavc @dunkhippo33 @harleysm @nimay Jamie Reynolds @ryannece Keith Stone and Lisa Cawley. These conversations were off the record so i can’t divulge the details, but they were authentic, heartfelt and thought provoking. As a student of the industry, yesterday was a master class learning from the best in this business. Their humility amidst such daunting success was both refreshing as well as a reminder that venture is a marathon and its winners are the ones who persevere through markets, are relentless in learning / improving and show deep appreciation for the amazing individuals around them. With that, I have so much appreciation for the incredible sponsors who made this event possible including @SiliconVlyBank @lathamwatkins @frankrimerman @Aduro_Advisors @AngelList. Above all else, I’m especially thankful for the amazing team at Equal Ventures - @simrangsuri @zchelseaz @achadroff @kerby.
